Mate? I knew what that was because we were trained to watch for mates because together they were stronger. That didn't explain why she said it to me though. I was confused. I unhooked her and cut the ties on her wrists before scooping her up bridal style and taking her to the car. Sophie had Ava in her car seat and all the bags in the car. I told her to get in the back and clean the woman up while we drove and she did. By the time we got to the gates of the village it was dark and I hoped we wouldn't have too much trouble. We pulled up and a big beefy man walked up to the side of the car. CAN I HELP YOU? he asked me. Um yes I need to talk to Mr. Tigarouses. HES BUSY RIGHT NOW CAN I ASK WHAT YOU NEED WITH HIM? he asked me, shining a flashlight through the car landing on the woman's battered body. LOLA? he asked, confused then pulled his gun on us. GET OUT OF THE CAR NOW! he yelled at us. Please we don't mean any harm. There's a child in the car I pleaded and he calmed down a little. His partner came out hearing the commotion with his gun raised as well. I saw the other guards eyes glaze over recognizing that was what they called linking then he said Samuel was on his way. About 10 minutes went by and a black suv came up the driveway. Sam and a couple other men got out of the car and the beefy guy opened the gate. Sophie tried to run to Sam but the guard stopped her with his gun. Stay there Soph I said, worried about what was going to happen. Instead she started throwing a fit and yelling at the guard giving him all sorts of s**t for pointing his gun at her. SOPHIE IS THAT YOU? Sam said. YEP THE ONE AND ONLY. NOW CAN YOU TELL THESE MEAT HEADS TO PUT THERE GUNS DOWN! she said and I looked at her with my jaw on the floor. PUT YOUR GUNS DOWN SHE'S NO HARM TO US. SHE IS YOUR LUNA'S SISTER. The guard dropped his gun and apologised profusely to Sophie. I was all sorts of confused now. Next Sam came up to me with a scowl on his face. WHY ARE YOU HERE HUNTER AND WITH LOLA OF ALL PEOPLE! He asked me, sounding like he wanted to rip my head off. I'm sorry Mr.Tigarouse for the intrusion but we didn't know where to go. I know I'm a hunter even know I'm confused on how you know that but I don't enjoy hunting like the others I actually hate it. And my sisters said we would be safe here. As for Lola as you called her my mother beat her pretty badly and she needs medical attention. I know what she did but I also know from what Sophie has told me that you're not cruel and she needs help. Sam nodded and told us to get back in the car and follow him. We did as we were told and drove up the driveway till we were met with what looked like a small clinic. We parked and got out of the car. I opened the door and scooped up Lola and carried her in. The nurse told me to lay her on the bed and I did as I was told. The blanket I had wrapped around her opened and the nurse gasped in disgust. WHAT HAPPENED TO HER? She questioned. She was tortured by a hunter I said and the nurse put her hand to her mouth in shock. Please take care of her, I said as she shooed me out of the room. Sam was waiting in the hall for me. COME WITH ME. He said and turned to walk away. What about my sisters? I asked. THEY WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF DON'T WORRY THEY ARE LIKE ROYALTY HERE. He said as we got to the SUV. We drove to a big mansion looking house in the middle of the village. He got out and I followed. We went inside and to the left and down a hall. He opened a door and we went in and I realised it was his office. He told me to sit and I did. NOW WANNA TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE? he asked. I told him what happened and that the hunters knew where they were. Then I went on to tell him about me and how I didn't want this life. I then told him what Lola had said to me un sure what it ment or if she was just so messed up she wasn't in her right mind. He looked at me shock and confusion all over his face. SHE SAID MATE? He asked, making sure I was sure of what I heard. Yes I'm sure that's what she said. I told him. INTERESTING. NOW THAT THAT'S ALL OUT OF THE WAY I NEED TO GET BACK TO MY MATE. he said. You mean lilas still alive! I said, shouting at him. YES WHY WOULDN'T SHE BE? He asked. Lola said she killed her. I thought she was dead! Oh my God Sophie thinks she's dead! She's going to be so happy! I said excitedly. I seen Sam smile a little before he could hide it and I felt a bit better. Maybe this was the right choice after all. OK ELIOT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO LOCK YOU UP TILL WE CAN BE SURE YOUR NOT HERE TO HURT US. He said. I understood this, I knew that it was going to happen. Always better to be safe I said to him and he led me out of his office and to a room down the hall. A man met us there and Sam opened the door. It was a normal room, nothing special, just a bed and a dresser but it was better than a cell like I was expecting. My backpack was on the bed and I thanked him for the room. He said Jason, the man that met us here would be outside the door if I needed anything. He then left and shut the door and I realised there was a bathroom attached to the room. I looked down at my bloody clothes and figured I should have a shower. After I had a shower and felt like a human again I got into bed exhausted from the drive and excitement. I fell asleep instantly but dreamt of Lola.

Lola pov

I came to confused on where I was. The last thing I remember was being beaten by Matt. Where's my baby? I thought in a panic looking down at my flat stomach. What's going on? Why am I cuffed to this bed? Hello? I yelled. A lady walked in a couple minutes later and I asked where I was. HELLO LOLA IM GLAD YOUR AWAKE. She said but didn't smile. Where's my baby? I asked. She looked at me confused and asked me what baby. I started to panic. Could he have taken her while I was out? My baby! I was pregnant when I came here! Did my husband come while I was asleep? Please tell me he didn't take her! Please! I bagged. LOLA CULM DOWN. THERE'S NO BABY. YOU WEREN'T PREGNANT WHEN THEY BROUGHT YOU HERE. She said, confused. Yes I was! I screamed at her pulling at my restraints. I need to find my baby before he hurts her too! I screamed. Just then a man came bursting through the door with the look matt had before he tried to kill me. WHY THE f**k DID YOU DO IT! He screamed at me and I cowered. I'm sorry I don't know what you're talking about but if you can help me find my baby I will leave. I said crying. BABY? He said confused. Next a woman came in waving papers around wearing a white coat. I assumed she was the doctor. WAIT SAM WAIT! She yelled and he turned his attention to her. SHE HAS NEUROLOGICAL AMNESIA. SHE WAS HIT SO HARD SHE HAS BRAIN DAMAGE. IT CORRECTED THE PREVIOUS DAMAGE. SHE WON'T BE THE LOLA WE KNOW. SHE PROBABLY WON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED AFTER SHE WAS HOSPITALISED LAST. She said. The man now I know as Sam looked back at me and back at the doctor. SHE'S ASKING ABOUT THE BABY. He said and walked out. Do you know where my baby is? I asked and she looked at me with sadness. I'M SORRY LOLA BUT THE BABY DIDN'T MAKE IT. She said and I felt my heart break. No you're lying! He told you to say that! He paid you off didn't he! I don't know what you people want from me but I just want my baby! I said tears blinding me as I sobbed uncontrollably. IM GOING TO GIVE YOU SOME TIME THEN I WILL EXPLAIN WHAT HAS HAPPENED. She said and walked out. I was left with my thoughts and I was scared what had happened while I slept?

Sam pov

2 weeks. It had been 2 weeks and she was still in a coma. I needed her to wake up. I was losing myself. SAM! SAM WAIT I NEED TO TALK TO YOU! Lucy, our doctor said to me. Lucy if it's about Lola I don't have time for that right now I said irritated. NO ITS NOT ABOUT LOLA SAM ITS ABOUT LILA. She said, and I instantly stopped walking and turned towards her giving her my full attention. SAM I DONT KNOW HOW TO TELL YOU BUT LILAS PREGNANT. I WAS RUNNING TESTS EARLIER AND CAME ACROSS A COUPLE THINGS THAT POINT TO PREGNANCY SO I TESTED HER. IT WAS POSITIVE SAM. SHES PREGNANT. She said to me and I fell to the floor. The last 24 hours has been a roller coaster of emotions and I just can't handle them all. I started to cry. I didn't know if it was happy or sad tears but I just sat there on the ground and sobbed. Lucy nelt down beside me and wrapped her arms around me and whispered encouraging things in my ear till I calmed down. Sorry you had to see me like that Lucy I said. OH SAM WE ALL HAVE OUR BREAKING POINT. YOU'RE STILL THE STRONGEST MAN I KNOW. She reassured me and I was grateful. I cleared my throat and wiped my tears trying to get my self back together. WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO DO AN ULTRASOUND? She asked and I lit up like a Christmas tree. I WILL TAKE THAT AS A YES. She giggled and we walked to Lilas room. Lucy showed me the little alien jellybean and I got to hear the heartbeat it was magical. I'm going to be a dad I said out loud. However I said it alittle to loud and the trio heard me from the hall. I guess they were coming down to check on us. A DAD? George said coming through the door first. OMG YOUR KIDDING RIGHT! Anna said next and Izzy hugged her tight in excitement. I smiled at them and told them the good news. Then I told them about Lola and Lucy explained everything to us. WHAT DO WE DO NOW? Anna asked. I'm not sure I replied honestly.

Lola pov

The nurse brought me food and tended to my wounds while the doctor was gone. I was numb. I didn't know what to do. if they are telling the truth my baby didn't make it and I have forgotten everything that's happened after that. How long has it been? My body looks like I haven't been pregnant for a long time and that Sam guy was pissed at me. What did I do? About 2 hours after the doctor left she came back. HELLO AGAIN LOLA. MY NAME IS LUCY I APOLOGISE FOR NOT INTRODUCING MYSELF BEFORE. She said and I apologised for my outburst. How long has it been since I lost the baby? I asked. IM SORRY LOLA IT'S BEEN SEVEN YEARS. She said and I looked at her shocked. Seven years! I'm missing seven years of my life? I said mortified. She was about to explain when Sam walked back into the room. I looked at him and he did look familiar and I got a calm feeling around him so I felt like I could trust him. HELLO AGAIN LOLA. He said and walked to the side of my bed. He touched my hand and I pulled it away abruptly. Please don't touch me. I don't know you, I said. He laughed and I looked at him confused. Why are you laughing? I asked. BECAUSE LOLA WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH ALOT AND FOR YOU TO SAY THAT IS A RELIEF I HAD TO MAKE SURE. He said and I was more confused. I WILL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING. He said and sat down in the chair beside my bed. He went on to tell me about the pack, my obsession with him, his Luna Lila and what I did to her, the hunters, and lastly my mate. By the time he was done my head was spinning. The person I was in the last seven years was not me. I would never hurt anyone, especially not on purpose. That asshole Matt not only took my baby from me but seven years of my life! What happened to Matt? I asked him. He looked me in the eyes and said he killed him. YOU WERE SICK AND NOW YOUR BETTER I CAN'T PUNISH YOU FOR THAT. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. He said and I thanked him. The nurse then said I should rest. It had been a long day. I agreed and laid my head down falling into a deep slumber.
