Lila pov

I was in the forest again. I followed the path like I always did but this time Ezmay stood where my mother usually did. She held a beautiful baby in her arms and looked so content as she played with the sweet bundle. She looked up at me and smiled. HELLO LILA. COME MEET OLIVER. She said in a calming voice. I walked to her and she handed him to me. He made happy notices in my arms as I felt something soft graze my legs. I looked down to see Violet, my tiger rubbing against my legs. Well hello to you too I said to her and Ezmay held her hands out for Oliver and I gently passed him back to her. I scratched Violet's head and pet her as Ezmay hummed a song to Oliver. It was so peaceful here. I'm I dead? I asked Ezmay and she laughed. NO. NO. MY CHILD YOUR VERY MUCH ALIVE, she said. Then why am I here? I questioned. YOUR MIND WAS WEAK FROM EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED SO YOUR BODY SHUT DOWN. She said and I was more confused now. What happened and why are you in my dream? I asked. She explained everything that had happened and told me the goddess let her stay here to guide me. She said because she had sacrificed herself for a royal the goddess told her she was worthy of an afterlife. I was sad that this had happened because of me but she reassured me that it was meant to be. She said I wouldn't become what I need to be without it. She set Oliver down and came to sit beside me in the grass. I hadn't even realised I had fallen to my knees until she sat down. I was sobbing trying to put everything together in my mind. Trying to figure everything out. Then I heard a voice in my head. HELLO LILA. PLEASE DON'T WORRY WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER. The voice said. And I looked at Violet in surprise. I'M HERE NOW LILA I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU AGAIN I PROMISE. She said and I believed her. Violet went on to tell me about some of the things we will be able to do together and told me a little bit about my magic. She said we had a lot to learn but together it wouldn't be hard. I laid down on her and she was so soft and warm I started to felt sleepy. GOODBYE FOR NOW MY CHILD. Ezmay said and I drifted off to sleep.

Lola pov

I watched as they left with the cupcake in her hand and I smiled to myself. Now to go lay low for a while until Sam realises I'm his real mate and she just put a spell on him. Once she's dead he will finally be mine, I smiled to myself. I got into my car and drove to the gate house. Good Evening Joey. I said to the guard. HELLO LOLA, WHERE ARE YOU OFF TO TONIGHT? he asked. Oh nowhere special I replied. Just going to get some pizza. You know I can make a mean pizza but nothing beats a slice of greasy take out. I said hoping he would believe my lie. OH YA I AGREE WITH YOU THERE! BRING ME BACK A SLICE EH? He asked, rubbing his tummy. Ya forsure Joey I said winking at him as he opened the gate. I drove out and continued on my long trip to my cabin. I hadn't been there since before everything had happened with my ex husband. I still owned it and paid the property taxes as a backup plan in case anything ever happened and I needed a place to go. I drove through the night and decided to stop in a little town to get some breakfast in the morning. The restaurant was empty other than a man around my age and an older woman in one of the corner booths. I sat down and a young woman came and gave me a menu. She asked if I would like a coffee and I said yes and she left. Moments later she brought me my coffee and took my order and I noticed the man was looking at me with a small smirk on his face. Cocky bastard I thought to myself. He looked away after making eye contact with me and a couple minutes later my food was served. I looked at the plate and everything looked so bland I missed my restaurant already I thought. As I ate the man got up and started to walk over to me as the woman he was with took her leave out the front door. Oh great here we go I thought. HELLO, he said in a deep voice. Hi, I answered. IS THIS SEAT TAKEN? he continued. No it's free I stated. He sat down and asked me how my day was going so far and I said fine, rolling my eyes not really interested in talking. I sighed and told him to sit back down. I'm sorry I'm just tired. I didn't mean to be rude. I have been driving all night, I said. OH MY YOU MUST BE EXHAUSTED! YOU SHOULD GET SOME REST ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN YOUR TIRED. He said concerned. Ya I'm pretty tired I was thinking about crashing but I don't know where anything is around here I said. THERE'S A MOTEL JUST UP THE ROAD I COULD TAKE YOU THERE IF YOU LIKE? he said, winking at me. I thought about it and he was handsome. I wouldn't mind getting a little pleasure while I wait for Sam. I paid and we got up and walked to my car getting in and pulling onto the road. We made it to the motel and he paid for a room and took me to it. Not a bad distraction I thought. As we made it into the room he kicked the door shut with his foot not breaking the heated make out session. He then leaned down to untie his boots I assumed not being able to see because of the foot board. After he was done he crawled up the bed till he was over top of me. Then just as I was about to fall into a deep slumber the door opened and the older woman he was with earlier walked in. TRYING TO GET YOUR d**k WET WITH THE ENEMY ELIOT. Lane pov

Trying to get your d**k wet with the enemy Eliot? I asked, pissed off at the length he went to securing the girl. WELL IT f*****g WORKED DIDNT IT MOTHER. He said and I could tell he was angry at my intrusion on his hunt. Yes it did son, now take a shower you smell like it. I said gagging. While he showered I got it into the back of the van. The van was caged in the back so they couldn't get out in case they decided to run. When Eliot was done in the shower we took its car and ditched it before driving home. We got home just after noon and took the thing down to the basement. It was still unconscious so Eliot and I tied it to the hook we had hanging from the ceiling. It came to about an hour later looking around nervously like an animal stuck in a trap. I enjoyed the power I had over it. How petrified it was. Well good morning sleeping beauty I said sarcastically. It answered with a grunt and tried to wiggle loose. Sorry sunshine you're not going anywhere I laughed. I unrolled my tool bag on the table so it could see it layed out. It has everything from knives and plyers to little vials of wolfsbane and liquid silver anything I might need. It gasped at the sight of it and I smirked in excitement. This was going to be fun.

Eliot pov

Mom use to tell me stories about how bad these creatures were and how they were different so they deserved to die. She would tell me stories about how they slaughtered villages of humans and would eat the leftovers. She made me hate them, she made me hate Lila. She would tell me we sensed their power because our God had sent us to kill them. She had said that they would try and trick me. They would do anything and say anything to get us to do what they wanted. I didn't know what to think any more. I have had three encounters with supers and I have to say only once did they attack me first. Lila was my first. Mom always treated Lila badly even as a child I never quite understood until we were sixteen. I turned sixteen first but other than being a little stronger I felt pretty normal. However when Lila turned 16 i felt it. It had felt like this pull towards her. Mom was pissed that day, beat the ever loving s**t out of Lila. She beat her so bad she had to go to the hospital. She was there for days before she came back and when she did the pull was gone. Mom explained everything to me shortly after that. She told me I was a hunter and what it meant to be one. She also told me about the creatures that live among us and how dangerous they are. I believed her, she was my mother after all but now I'm not sure. That day I picked up Sophie and Lila from the spa, it changed something in me. Seeing her as a person and not our slave was a hard pill to swallow. She looked so innocent and happy. It was like a switch flipped in my head. I tried talking to mom about it but she just told me to "stop being a baby we have a job to do". So that was the end of that conversation. I'm starting to hate her instead of the supers. She's so mean all the time and I always feel like I'm failing. ELIOT WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? she yelled from the basement. Coming mother, I replied. I opened the door and down the stairs I went, not wanting to do this. Mom had made a soundproof room in the basement so she could train me on how to torture them to get more information. I had tortured and killed two others before this one but they deserve their fate. They were blood sucking vampires. We had caught them rapping and bleeding dry a young woman in an alley downtown. This one was different though. She was nice and scared. She didn't want to hurt me. I didn't know what kind she was but I could tell she didn't have any defensive powers. As I made it into the room I saw mom had taken her clothes off and she hung there naked. I turned my head away embarrassed at her lack of clothing. WHAT YOU NEVER SEE A PAIR OF t**s BEFORE? The woman screamed in pain and blood ran down her body like paint. she begged mother to stop but mother just laughed. I felt sick this wasn't right. WELL ARE YOU GOING TO ASK HER QUESTIONS OR DO U WANT TO SWITCH? mother asked irritated that I hadn't started yet. Sorry I said looking at my feet. Where were you coming from? I asked the woman. PLEASE YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS. PLEASE. She begged me. Mother didn't like her answer though and punched her in the ribs hearing a sickening crack. She cried out in pain and I thought I was going to puke. Why was this bothering me this bad? Even with Lila I had seen mom beat her and I didn't feel this bad. Please just answer the question begged her. NO! She screamed. Next mother took another blade and held it to her face. TELL US WHAT WE WANT TO KNOW AND I WILL MAKE IT A LESS PAINFUL DEATH. Mother said to her. NEVER! She replied and mother slashed her cheek. She screamed again and tears streamed down her face and I puked this time. WHAT THE f**k? Mother said. I'm not feeling well, I said. I CAN f*****g SEE THAT. YOUR SUCH A b***h SOMETIMES. she said and I nodded. GO GET CLEANED UP I CAN HANDLE THIS ONE. She said with a smile on her face and I gagged again. I went back upstairs and decided on a shower. After I got cleaned up I went back down still feeling sick to my stomach. As I opened the door to the room I noticed mom had taken her down and tied her to a chair she must have passed out. She was bruised and bloody but still alive. her breathing was shallow and her head was hanging down. She started to come to again and mother through a bucket of water on her and she gasped at the shock. OK LITTLE b***h IF YOU DONT TELL ME WHERE THIS PLACE IS IM GOING TO MAKE YOU REGRET IT. Mother said angry that the woman wasn't talking. She looked up at mom and spit a mouth full of blood at her and I almost laughed. Until mother hit her. She punched her in the right side of her face. I heard it crack as the woman's face swung to the side from the blow. The woman was out instantly completely unconscious. I GUESS THATS ALL FOR TODAY. She said as she rubbed her knuckles. We made it back upstairs and I asked what the woman had said. SHE SAID SHE CAME FROM A CLOSED GATED COMMUNITY NORTH OF HERE. SHE WOULDN'T TELL ME WHO HER LEADER WAS THOUGH. I NEED THAT INFORMATION TO KNOW WHERE EXACTLY IT IS AND WHAT WE ARE DEALING WITH. She said to me, I nodded and went to my room feeling very unwell. Mother decided I was to much of a baby to deal with this one and had some of her friends help her instead. It had been about 2 weeks since we found her and I felt horrible. I didn't know what was wrong with me. My whole body was sore and I felt so sick. Mother said I must have caught something from the woman but it's been 2 weeks and it's getting worse. We had found out that Samuel Tigarouse was the leader and mom was pissed. That was who Lila was with however the woman said she poisoned her and that she was dead now. That little bit did make mom smile for 2 seconds. Today mom had a meeting with the hunters to find out what the next step was so it was just the girls and I home. A couple days ago I had told Sophie what was going on and that I didn't know what to do. She was shocked. She then told me she had visited with Lila and had planned on moving there but hadn't heard from her when they were supposed to go. I then told her what the woman had said and she fell to the floor sobbing. THAT CAN'T BE! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW! She said, pounding her fists on the floor. Look I know you're upset but maybe the woman can take us there? I said having an idea. She looked at me wiping her eyes and I told her we were going to save the woman and go to Samuel for help and to warn him. She agreed and I told her to gather the stuff we needed and get ava in the car while I got the woman. She nodded and I went and threw a backpack of my stuff together and grabbed the med kit so Sophie could clean her up on the drive. I handed my stuff to Sophie and went downstairs to get the woman. When I opened the door I felt a deep panic in my chest like my heart was being ripped out. I could smell cinnamon and spices mixed with the stench of blood. She was hanging this time naked just like before I went to her wrapping a blanket around her as she came to. She slowly looked up at me, eyes swollen shut. MATE? She said in a soft broken voice before she passed out again.
