Chapter Four
John arrived home, still feeling unbearably sad; he would be on his own until Tara came. Once settled in front of his computer, he opened Skype.
His heart lifted when Tara’s smiling face appeared on the screen.
“Hi, darling! Did you arrive home, okay?”
John was so relieved to see her face; he was unable to speak for a moment.
“I miss you already, and you’ve only just gone,” she was saying.
John sighed. “I know it’s strange, but I’ve never had such strong feelings for anyone like I do for you. I guess it’s because I love you.”
Tara’s smile widened even further. “I love you too, John, and know I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” She giggled. “It feels like we’re acting like a pair of teenagers, not grown adults. Still, thank God, you feel the same.”
