GINA’S POV The sounds of the shackles of chains unlocking had jolted me awake. A searing headache pierced through my skull as I struggled to rise from the cold floor. Surrounded by the devoid darkness, I realized I was still locked up in the dark room. How long had I been here? I couldn't tell. Someone was at the door. I sat up now, rubbing at my tear-stained cheeks. I had cried myself to sleep, the enveloping darkness making me almost lose my mind. The darkness was so intense that I couldn’t even see my hands or anything at all. My jaw twitched as anger coursed through me. If it was Devyn at the door, I swear I was going to bite his ear off if he brought his handsome stupid face close to mine again. The door opened with a silent creek, light from the passage brightening the room.
