JENNIFER'S POV
I started walking fast in the dark, not knowing where I was heading. Without strength in me, I unknowingly hit my leg against something, stumbled, and fell. Everything went black.
I had no idea how long I stayed there. The only thing I remembered was falling down and blacking out.
When I finally woke up, I saw Eli’s face first.
"Eli, how did you get here?" I asked.
He just smiled at me and moved aside.
"So my knight in shining armour came to save me," I thought.
But he didn’t say anything. He just stood there, looking at me with a blank expression.
"What’s going on in his mind?" I wondered. "Why is he just staring at me?"
My head ached terribly, and I couldn’t help but lie back on the car seats.
