I stood by the door without going inside, listening to every word Eli said.
Oh really? So, this is what he's been doing? I thought to myself.
I pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The shock on his face said it all.
I wasn’t exactly surprised—I’d encountered betrayal too many times. But I hadn’t expected it from Eli. I had told him explicitly that Jennifer was mine, yet he still dared to pursue her.
That was the height of it. How could he do that?
