To prevent death and sorrow, a war because humans tend to be afraid of those different from them. Iris wants to throw that away, the protection that Mystics have as a result of this rule. The only reason why Mystics continue to thrive in society. Although secluded, they're still living until their time is up and they leave this world to be reborn again.
