Happiest day of my life

965 Words
Paige's POV  I opened my eyes after recalling the events from almost a year ago. The events that lead to this very day.  Staring at my reflection in the mirror I could hardly recognize the girl before me or was I a woman now? either way, I felt so empty. I didn't know the man I was marrying. This was not how I remembered him nor was this how I wanted him to behave.  Why was he so cold and detached to me, to the world. What happened that made him this way? Did I do that to him? If I did then I deserved to feel much worst than I do.  A knock on the door reminded me that I could not hide in this dressing all day and sooner or later I had to face my destiny. hey maybe if I'm lucky he will call the whole thing off. After all, he doesn't seem that into me anymore. In fact, I think that he actually does not love me anymore.  Giving myself one more once over I walk to the door and pull it open to reveal my very happy father. He believed that Alex and I would always get married in the end anyway. " ready sweetheart?" he asked with stars in his eyes. " Yes daddy" I smiled back. As we made our way to our required destination he questioned once more " how are you feeling about all this? I know this is sudden but it's just sooner than expected I suppose."  " Yes Daddy, I am fine I assure you. Today is the happiest day of my life" I told him with the biggest smile I could muster.  The music played while I walked down the aisle to my soon to be husband with that same smile I had given my father. While Alex just stared at me. At one point I could have sworn I saw something along the lines of lust but he soon enough just blinked it again. The ceremony was over " you may now kiss the bride" said the priest and Alex leaned forward to seal this marriage with a kiss while I closed my eyes and breached myself. Was this going to feel like kissing your big brother? No, This was anything but! his soft lips tasted so delicious that I wanted to feast on them forever. His possessive hold on my waist made me feel like I had been the only woman lucky enough to be in this position with him. A soft moan escaped from my lips shocking me because that had never happened before. Alex chuckled not expecting that reaction from me and then he pulled away like he felt nothing from that kiss. He turned and held my hand as he walked out of the church and into the limousine awaiting us.  Our reception was held at one of his hotels, Alex's family really did own a lot of hotels, construction companies, and other stuff I was not even aware of. Everything looked amazing and maybe in a different situation this would have been the wedding of my dreams.   People congratulated us one after another and I had no idea who they were. Except for Alex's family and my dad everyone else, there was a stranger to me. Alex however smiled and made conversation with each and every one of them. At one point I just stared at him in shock because this was the first time I had witnessed a smile on his face since we reunited.  " Are you happy dear?" asked an old lady dressed in yellow. " Yes mam, This is the happiest day of my life" and I gave her my best smile. In the side of my eye, I saw Alex wipe his head in my direction obviously shocked by my sudden outburst of pure joy. Maybe if I kept saying it, I just might believe it. I turned to face Alex and couldn't help the smirk that accompanied next. I was going to pay for that one.  Alex POV  As Paige walked down the aisle I tried extremely hard not to show any emotion however this was almost impossible given how gorgeous she looked.  She was the word perfection in every way and I will always love her but she didn't need to know that. No, I would make her fall in love with me first and beg for it in the end. She brought this all on herself. If she had only listened to me at the beginning about Mike she would have been spared all of the heartache and trauma she had to endure. But no she cast me away like yesterday's trash when all I ever wanted was to make her happy. God, I wanted to grab her and ravish her right here and now in front of all these people so they would know she was MINE.  But that would f**k up my plans royally. I needed to be patient, wait for her to come to me.  We had the rest of our lives after all. The reception was a bore on my side. I did make sure to make it look exactly like Paige would have wanted. Most of the people there were business partners or majors I was interested in. I invited them so they would think they were somewhat important in my life. While I faked like I actually cared about what they had to say. When I heard my wife ( f**k I loved how that sounds) say this was the happiest day of her life. I could not hold back the shock that was evident on my face.  did she just smirk at me? Oh, she was going to pay for that one.
