7#a glimpse of his world

782 Words
Jack kept his promise. Over the next few weeks, he did everything he could to make Emily feel like she was part of his life. They spoke on the phone nearly every night, and he shared glimpses of his hectic world—photos from the recording studio, videos of him goofing around with his band, and even clips of new songs he was working on. For the first time, Emily began to see the man behind the superstar. Jack Steele wasn’t just the polished performer she’d seen on stage; he was someone who loved late-night takeout, missed his family when he was on tour, and hated the way the media twisted his life into something unrecognizable. But as much as she cherished their connection, Emily couldn’t ignore the challenges that came with it. Every time Jack’s name trended online, her chest tightened, wondering what new drama the media had concocted. And every time she saw a picture of him with the actress his label had paired him with for publicity, a pang of jealousy and insecurity rippled through her. --- One evening, as Emily sat sketching by the window, her phone buzzed. It was Jack. “Hey,” he said when she answered, his voice warm and familiar. “Hey,” she replied, smiling. “How’s L.A.?” “Busy as always,” he said with a chuckle. “But I have a surprise for you.” Emily’s heart skipped a beat. “What kind of surprise?” “I have a show in New York next weekend,” Jack said. “And I want you to be there. I’ll send you a ticket, and we can finally see each other again.” Emily’s breath caught. “Jack, I don’t know… That’s a big step.” “I know it is,” Jack said gently. “But I want you there. I want you to see my world, to be part of it—even if just for a night.” Her mind raced with doubts. What if she didn’t fit in? What if people found out about her and she became the target of the media’s wrath? But deep down, she knew how much this meant to Jack. “Okay,” she said finally. “I’ll be there.” --- The week leading up to the concert felt like a whirlwind. Emily tried not to overthink it, but her nerves were impossible to ignore. She’d never been to New York before, let alone a massive concert like the one Jack was planning. When the day finally arrived, Emily boarded the train to the city, clutching the ticket Jack had sent her. Her stomach was in knots the entire ride, but the thought of seeing Jack again kept her going. --- The venue was massive, far bigger than the small theater where she’d first seen Jack perform. As she made her way inside, a staff member greeted her and led her to a private box overlooking the stage. Jack had arranged everything, and the view was breathtaking. She could see the entire crowd, thousands of fans buzzing with excitement. When the lights dimmed and the first notes of Jack’s opening song echoed through the venue, Emily’s nerves melted away. Watching him perform was like seeing him in his element, his passion and energy radiating through every note. But as the concert went on, Emily began to notice the little things—the way Jack’s gaze occasionally drifted toward the box where she was sitting, the subtle smile that crossed his face when their eyes met. It was as if he was singing just for her. --- After the show, a security guard escorted Emily backstage. Her heart raced as she navigated the crowded corridors, finally reaching Jack’s dressing room. When the door opened, Jack was there, still glowing from the performance. Without hesitation, he pulled her into a hug. “I’m so glad you came,” he said, his voice low and filled with emotion. “Me too,” Emily said, smiling up at him. “You were incredible.” Jack laughed, running a hand through his messy hair. “Thanks. But having you here made it even better.” They spent the next hour talking and laughing, the chaos of the world outside fading away. For the first time, Emily felt like she belonged in Jack’s world—not as a fan, but as someone who truly mattered to him. But as the night wore on, Emily couldn’t ignore the lingering doubts in the back of her mind. Being with Jack felt like a dream, but how long could they keep this fragile connection alive before reality came crashing down? ---
