Chapter 15:The Wedding Invitation.

Lily and Luca stood hand in hand, gazing into each other's eyes as they exchanged vows on their wedding day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and love was in the air. It was a perfect day for a perfect couple.

As the ceremony came to a close, Lily's heart skipped a beat when she saw Alex standing in the crowd. Her former lover, the man who had once been her partner in crime, was there at her wedding. She couldn't believe it.

"Alex," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of the music. "What are you doing here?"

Alex smiled, his eyes filled with regret and longing. "I wanted to see you happy, Lily. I wanted to be here for you on your special day."

Lily felt a rush of emotions flood through her. She had never expected to see Alex again, let alone at her wedding. But as she looked into his eyes, she saw the sincerity in his gaze. He had changed, just like she had.

Luca, sensing the tension between them, stepped forward and extended his hand to Alex. "Thank you for coming, Alex. It means a lot to us."

Alex shook Luca's hand, a grateful smile on his face. "I'm happy for you both. You deserve all the happiness in the world."

As the reception began, Lily found herself drawn to Alex once again. They sat together at a table, reminiscing about their past and how far they had come. They laughed, they cried, and they shared stories of their new lives.

"I never thought I would see you again, Alex," Lily admitted, her voice filled with emotion. "But I'm glad you're here. I've missed you."

Alex reached out and took her hand, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "I've missed you too, Lily. I never stopped loving you, even when we went our separate ways."

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of children laughing and playing nearby. Alex looked up and saw his wife and two beautiful kids running towards him, their faces filled with joy.

"This is my family, Lily," Alex said, his eyes shining with pride. "They are my everything now. I've left the dangerous life behind, just like you have."

Lily smiled, her heart filled with happiness for Alex. She was glad to see that he had found peace and love in his life, just like she had with Luca.

As the night wore on, Lily and Alex danced together under the stars, their hearts full of love and forgiveness. They had both been given a second chance at happiness, and they were determined to make the most of it.
