Chapter 43 “Mrs Andreyev.” The man stepped in front of Emma as she emerged from the apartment building, and she clutched her purse to her chest. His lip seemed to curl as he said her surname. A flock of sparrows took flight from the tree outside the sliding doors and she started and turned, narrowing her eyes at the sight of the man who’d called her name. “Yes?” she replied, waiting as he strode towards her. “A moment of your time,” he asked, holding his hand out in front of him as though to allay her fears. Tall, with a frame which age had done little to attack, the man towered over her.
