Isabelle left the room with Rachel and entered the sitting room where John and Rebecca were waiting. "I have to go," she said abruptly, her eyes darting towards the door. John and Rebecca exchanged confused glances. "What's wrong?" John asked, rising from his seat. Isabelle shook her head, "Nothing, I just...I have to go." She seemed agitated and restless, her hands fidgeting with her bag. Rachel intervened, "She's just stressed about her exam, that's all. Isn't that right, Isabelle?" Isabelle nodded hastily, "Yes, that's it. My exam." She seemed reluctant to meet their eyes. Rebecca looked concerned, "Can't you study here? We don't mind." Isabelle shook her head again, "No, I need to...I need to focus. Alone." Her voice was firm, but her eyes betrayed a hint of fear and she walked out. John's face darkened with worry as he watched Isabelle hurry out . He knew something was wrong, and he wasn't going to let it slide. He turned to Rachel, his voice low and even, but laced with anger. "What's going on, Rachel? What did you say to her?" He inquired. Rachel shrugged, her expression innocent. "Nothing, John. I just told her she should focus on her exam." John's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me, Rachel. I know you too well." He stormed out of the room, determined to get to the bottom of things. He caught up to Isabelle outside and grabbed her arm, his grip firm but gentle. "What's going on, Isabelle? You can tell me." Isabelle shook her head, her eyes wide with fear. "Nothing John, I just need to focus on my exam." She explained. John's eyes searched hers, but he couldn't find any deceit. Still, he didn't believe her. "Isabelle, please. You can trust me." Isabelle's voice rose, her words tumbling out in a rush. "John, really, nothing happened. I swear. Rachel was just trying to help me." John's grip relaxed, his expression softening. He wanted to believe her but his instincts still screamed that something was off. Finally, he nodded, his voice gentle. "Okay, Isabelle. I'll drive you home." Isabelle agreed and John helped her into the car, they both headed to Isabelle’s house. As they drove, the tension between them was palpable. John's eyes kept darting to Isabelle, his mind racing with possibilities. Isabelle on the other hand seemed lost in thought, her eyes fixed on some point outside the window. When they arrived at her place, John walked her to the door, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "You're sure you're okay?" he asked, his voice low. Isabelle nodded, her smile weak. "Yeah, John. I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me.” "Okay, well if you insist, just let me know if you need anything." John said. Isabelle was so angry and tried to keep her feelings from John. She tries to hide her anger till she sees John depart from her house. Isabelle watched as John's car disappeared into the distance, her eyes welling up with tears. She felt like she was losing control, like her whole world was crashing down around her. She locked herself indoors, unable to face the truth that had been revealed. She thought back to the day she witnessed John’s father killing her parents. She had been so young, so scared. She had escaped and tried to forget and to move on with her life but now it all came flooding back the memories she had tried so hard to suppress. Isabelle remembered the news article Rachel had thrown at her, the scandal involving Thompson's family business. She had testified against them. She remembered telling the truth then but no one believed her because she was too small and insignificant except just the cops who stood for her. Isabelle wept bitterly and her body shaking with sobs. She felt so lost and so alone. She didn't know what to do or where to turn. Rachel's words echoed in her mind, "You're involved in a scandal with Thompson's family! You testified against us! How could you keep this from John?" Isabelle felt a wave of anger wash over her. “How dare Rachel accuse her? She was the one who had suffered, who had lost everything, her parents and all…. Rachel should be begging her for forgiveness, not accusing her.” Isabelle thought to herself, hot tears followed. As the tears continued to fall, Isabelle realized that she was just as lost as anything. She didn't know what to do, how to move forward. She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare with no escape. Her life has been mysterious ever since her parents died and then, there was John whom she had fallen in love with despite everything not knowing his true identity. Now that she had known she didn't know if she could ever forgive him and if she could ever trust him again. Isabelle's mind was a jumble of emotions, her heart heavy with sorrow. She didn't know what the future held but she knew one thing - she couldn't keep living like this trapped in the past. Isabelle was so consumed by anger and hurt. She needed to find a way to move on, to heal and to forgive but how? She was thoughtless about it. John rode back home with worriedness he knew that he shouldn't have left Isabella in such a state, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Isabelle and he waited patiently for her call but nothing. John helded on to his room as he got home, hoping that Isabelle would call soon. But as the minutes ticked by he grew impatient. John decided to call her himself; he dialed his number but he didn't pick up. He continued calling, but she ignored him. John's frustration grew; he knew something was wrong. John stormed into Rachel's room, his face twisted in anger. "What did you say to Isabelle?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. Rachel looked up from her phone with an innocent expression on her face. "Nothing John, we just had a girl chat." She explained. John's eyes narrowed; he knew that Rachel was lying. "Don't lie to me Rachel, I know you're behind this, you've always been jealous of my relationship." Rachel shrugged, her expression unchanging. "I don't know what you're talking about, John, I didn't do anything." She explained. John's anger flared. "Don't play dumb with me Rachel. I know you're messing with my relationship, you're always interfering, always trying to cause trouble." He yelled. Rebecca, who had been watching the exchange, tried to intervene. "John, calm down, let's talk about this." She pleaded. John cut her off angrily, he was so annoyed that he cared for nothing. "Stay out of this, Rebecca. This is between me and Rachel." He shouted. Rachel stood her ground, her eyes flashing with defiance. "John, I swear I didn't do anything. Maybe you and Isabelle had a fight or something?" John's eyes blazed with anger. "No, we didn't have a fight and even if we did that's not the point. The point is you're messing with my relationship, Rachel and I won't stand for it." He said. After a lot of frustration John stormed out of the room, his anger and frustration fueling his determination to get to the bottom of things, he couldn't stand Rachel's look and he went directly to his car and drove out of the house. his mind racing with possibilities he knew Rachel was behind this and he was going to prove it. As he drove, John's mind replayed the conversation with Rachel. He knew she was hiding something but he didn't know what he was determined to find out. After driving for a while, John arrived at Isabelle's house and helded directly to his door. He knocked on the door, his heart pounding with anticipation Isabelle didn't answer.
