BREWED OUT OF PAIN

Episode 3

Vivara slept in her room leaving her door open for the first time in a long time shortly after she was asleep. Linda quickly went under her bed in the guest room were she had hidden the bottle.

“finally it will all end today Killian will be mine alone, I’m pregnant a perfect opportunity to blame it on pregnancy hormones”she was bent on ruining Vivara’s entire existence and her beautiful body, she felt Vivara’s fine face and body was the only thing still keeping Killian from completely being hers.

Linda picked up a bottle under her bed wrapped with so many layers of leather, she covered her eyes with dark shades while she wore black hand gloves. She made sure the apartment was empty and quiet. the only noise heard was that of neighbors in the opposite apartment.

She walked into Vivara’s room stared at her for some time as if changing her heart towards the evil she was about to commit, but the little voice of the devil which was the only inner voice she obeys gave in, she opened the bottle and poured the acid on Vivara’s face down to her neck. Vivara woke up with a loud scream that cuts accross hell’s gate neighbors began rushing in.

“Help I’m burning up, Linda has killed me, somebody help I’m out of breath”, Linda realizing the depth of the damage she had just caused ran out of the apartment as fast as an antelope. Neighbors running towards the voice with buckets of water, while others carried detergent the only word ringing in their heards was the word “ burn” they all ran to stop whatever fire from burning.

“ please don’t waste time pour the water on my body I’m in pains” neighbors began pouring water on her continuously as if making sacrifices to a god, can someone call the clinic, while others brought reasonable suggestions for her to remove her clothes to avoid contamination, one suggested for salt to be poured on her wounds and he was immediately chased out. the ambulance arrived and Vivara was rushed to the health center. Before she arrived the clinic the damage has been done already. Her face to her neck was ruined she was given series of injections to subdue the pains.

Youths were alerted on what was happening, they began the search for Linda, she has to pay for her crimes and the only thing suitable for her was a life of imprisonment, the news had spread across Bred drills and beyond. Killian rushed to the health center immediately after hearing the news.

“Vivara I’m sorry I brought this upon us, if only I had not cheated on you we wouldn’t be here, I can’t forgive myself, seeing you lying lifeless really breaks my heart I will fix this, linda has to pay for this I will kill her with my bare hands, dear universe as I bask in your presence for the first time in a long time please forgive me and heal Vivara, you can take all that I have just heal her please”. It’s been three days already no one seems to know where Linda was hiding. Killian entered the guest room he had kept Linda and began searching her small bag looking to find a clue to where Linda could be hiding, a contact an address or something. He found something in her bag that left him in shock.

“So all along the pregnancy was not mine this text results in my hands shows she was a month gone before we met, and her phone shows messages she had sent to five different men pinning the pregnancy on them which everyone denied, then she found me Killian the fool, the gullible one, the one who couldn’t keep his trousers zipped’ I’m finished Linda has ruined me. If only I could set my eyes on her. Hell will be the only thing she will be craving for. It’s been three days already yet no news of her.

“I have found her youths please gather here fast!! a voice from one the youths is heard, she’s been hiding in this abandoned vehicle for days now, youths began rushing from all angles with various weapons, some carried stones while others rods and irons as if they were going hunting to kill the most dangerous animal in the forest. Linda immediately came out of the vehicle and began running following wherever her legs were leading her at that moment, she automatically regained energy with the fact that she had not eaten nor had anything to drink, her belle was full and drunk of fear, food was the last thing on her mind, she ran like one who is in the Olympics without looking back and she forgot she was even pregnant, all she cared and feared that moment was for her life, the youths began closing in on her she ran towards the high way without checking the traffic light, a moving trailer which carried bags of dried cocoa for exportation ran into her, before the youths could ask her to stop, she was shattered into unrecognizable pieces. Killian could feel his soul leaving his body when the news of Linda’s death and that of his supposed unborn child was brought to him.

A month has passed Vivara’s wounds are healing pretty fast, but her body was still very weak all she did was lay there in bed. Killian had dedicated all his days taking care of her apologizing each day that passes by, not because he loved her, but because of the guilt he feels.

“Killian thank you for not leaving my side”

“Vivara you’re awake thank heavens, please don’t say a word anymore, save your strength my darling I know a thousand apologies won’t bring back your beautiful face, it’s all my fault I brought this upon us I deserve all the insults in this world, you can hate me all you want I deserve it, I even deserve to be crusified but I’m sorry if only I could turn back the hand of time I would not have made the journey, I wish I knew that a life time opportunity comes most times with a temptation that will ruin you and take away your peace”.

“Killian have the culprit been caught? I hope she’s behind bars now or sentenced to life in imprisonment under the charge of attempted murder on my life”.

“Ooooo that she met her end, my darling she’s history now don’t worry about her, she will no longer disturb us never! from now henceforth I promise you it’s just the two of us, you and I against the world no more secrets no more secrets, no more lies no more mistakes, it’s going to be a new start I still love you and nothing has changed not even your scared face will change how I feel about you. and as for the serpent she ran into a vehicle and died while been chased by the youths, my darling can you imagine the child she was carrying was not even mine”.

“ No it was not supposed to end this way Killian, death was a punishment too sweet and easy for her, I wanted to see her behind bars for years, I wanted to ruin her face same way she had ruined mine”. Vivara began sobbing and gasping for breath. Killian calls the nurses for help, “ nurses help she’s having an attack.
