I waited with bated breath for him to continue. I didn’t think he would agree to what I asked for. It was a bit surreal. I was getting married to this man, a wealthy one at that, all because of a one-night stand. When he finally spoke, I thought I was hearing things.
“I would like for you to be faithful to me no matter what. We are married.”
I scoffed at him. It was as if he assumed that the reason Charles hurt me that way was because I was unfaithful and that was his revenge. “Excuse me, but you realize I was with Charles for 3 years and was true to him that entire time. I feel insulted.”
“I wouldn’t assume you would be unloyal but it’s better to be err on the side of caution than to assume. And if that makes you upset. I’m sorry.”
