Chapter 3 - Zane

"Please make sure the finance director is also at that meeting, i want to make sure the numbers will match" i say to Pricilla my PA. 

Ferreira Trading have been on Geo Industries for 3 months, come to think of it they have been trying for a few years now but there was this lucrative deal that came to light, something to look into. Pricilla have been hammering me about this manager that insist i also join the meeting, 3 months of this, I decided to go..

Parking my Audi i get to the front of the building. Its looking good but still not my style, I need to keep an open mind. Walking through the front my team is already there. They know I don't tolerate being late. I don't even greet the flirting eyes of the ladies in the front lobby. 

"Morning all, you know why we are here, Daniel i want you to look at the figures, show me anything that is not efficient, i need all information this wont come easy to them if it isn't sufficient to our global market, is that clear to all." I explain to my team

They all agree and we make our way to the top floor. Daniel is still next to me speaking as we take our steps

"Sir i need to look.........."  Daniel still spoke when this lady came crashing into me.

I Froze, standing my ground, who would just run into me

"Sorry, Please i need to leave, please move" She says to me with this trembling voice. I cant help to think something bad happened to her, shoes still in her hand she's clearly in distress.

I take a look at this creature in front of me, her eyes came up to mine. The most beautiful hazel big eyes, it hit me to my core. Her eyes are filled with tears she's trembling and she is tiny. Her hair looks soft and falling to her face, she is...

She looks up. "Ill get it from you please just keep it, i need to go now". she yells at the lady to the top.

"Amber what about the meeting" this woman shouts. "Do what you need to Lilly, I'm done"

She looks back at me, "Please move, never mind ill just go around" she says to me, clearly not realizing who i am. I move out the way as she tries to make effort to go around.

There she goes out the door shoes in hand and not looking back...I cant help but wonder who she is and what happened to her to be having tears in her eyes this early in the morning.

We walk to the offices and the reception lady is guiding us to  Its not as big as our offices but its good. There are coffee and condiments on the side, water to every seat, and a big screen for the presentation to be made. We all take our seats to the other end to the table. Daniel already busy to my left going through the folder.

The lady from the stairs walks in trying still to fix her hair she looks out of place. " Sorry to keep you waiting, I am Lilly we have encountered a problem this morning. I'm sorry to inform you that Miss Amber  wont be doing the presentation this morning, she ..." Lilly was interrupted by my PA 

" Lilly, If I may, we are here because of miss Amber, She is the one who made the lucrative deal and also the one who made sure that Mr. Benson was at this meeting today. I can promise you he will not tolerate anything less than what was laid out in our schedule, presented to us by Miss Amber." Pricilla tells Lilly

"Yes of course Miss i do understand, but.." Lilly is interrupted again

"But I will be doing this presentation today, Thank you Lilly." this man comes through the door still speaking hair messy and he walks funny.  He doesn't look presentable at all and I find this man very irritating.

"Just a moment" I say standing to my feet. Cant help feeling sorry for this Lilly woman i saw her with Miss Amber. So her name is Amber i think to myself walking to the window. "who are you exactly" i ask turning to this man.

"Chris Ferreira, I'm the Director of this company" he replies. Pulling himself straight from where he is standing looking like a misfortune. I heard of his wife making waves in the social society, but nothing of interest.

"Chris, please explain to me where Miss Amber is, she's the one i want to do business with and i will not allow anyone else to take my account unless its her." i say firmly with my hands behind my back, I'm getting irritated by this man.

Lilly stands up and say " Sir she was here but encountered personal problems and had to leave the office in a rush. I don't know if she will return and I'm more than willing to stand in and take the account and work with you, I am Mr. Ferreira PA. So you will be dealing directly with me at all cost"

My team already starting to rise to leave, so funny they know me that well. "No Thank you Lilly, I will not deal with Ferreira no longer. Please don't ever waste my time again." i say while my team moves to the door all starting to leave.

"you cant just leave, you cant do this, you are my client" Chris starts to raise his voice

I slowly walk to him, thinking he had something to do with Amber not being here, I stop a few meters from him with Daniel at the door looking at us. He smells like beer.

"No Chris, I'm not your client i was going to be Miss Amber Client but seeing that she's not here and i have a strong feeling you are the reason for it, i will not let my company do business with you." I reply with a stern voice and he started to cower under my look.

I step out the doors with Daniel and my team already on their way to the office.  Daniel is also a very good friend of mine and will always be honest and true.

I wonder back to Amber, her eyes are haunting me. its so clear, but cant help to notice her sadness behind them. I wonder who broke her. I would like to get to know her or just speak with her, maybe try and find what happened and why she had tears.

(few hours later)

"Zane, come join us at Angelino for dinner." Daniel says coming through the door " It will be great after today i know you need to eat so join us"

"Sounds good man, I'm in need of some good food and something to drink, ill be there text me the time" I reply staring on my laptop. I emailed Lilly to try and find out Amber whereabouts  but to no success.

Zane just stop, she's like every other woman, there's nothing to it, i say to myself. Getting ready i gather all things to join Daniel and friends for dinner. I wont say no to Angelino's. They are excellent.

Walking into the restaurant i see the capacity of their restaurant you cant get in here without prior appointments .I'm warmly greeted and shone to my table. I decided to have a Whiskey for now.  Everyone is talking and having a great time. I receive my whiskey and i Look around.

There she is, Amber, No it cant be, She's still in the same clothes and looking bewildered hugging Angelino.

She doesn't seem to know I'm watching her she is having a conversation and having a coffee in her had standing at the far end to the window looking outside. I take a moment to watch her. She is small, beautiful long black hair, legs to die for, especially in those heals, seeing its on her feet at least. Maybe i should go and introduce myself, but after this morning i don't think she would want anyone around her. I gather she takes flight easily.

She turns around looking at the crowd inside the restaurant. I'm stuck on her eyes i don't think i ever saw such amazing eyes. I don't even know what the conversation was on about all i saw was amber. I get up to go and introduce myself and i see she is now speaking with Angelino, smiling and giving a hug, i move forward to where the are. 

She turns to leave with her parcel, no no no she cant leave not now, I get to Angelino and i ask. "who is she" 

She stops at the door looks at me and waves at Angelino

"Why you want to know" Angelino ask me with his hands on his hips after waving to Amber with tears in his eyes. They have a connection. Perfect i can find out from him

"Please she bumped into me today at her office crying and leaving i tried finding her so i can speak with her to see if i can help" i reply with a sincere look.

Angelino looks at me and finally replies " She is Miss Amber Grace, She's like daughter to me. She is now maybe going away, i always knew that place were bad. She is alone and she tries, many scars and pain. Maybe one day she will heal" Angelino says with a sad look.

"Thank you, and just maybe i might be able to help with all of that" i reply

"Amber Grace" i say softly moving back to my dinner
