CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE As the sun rose to its pinnacle over the island of Gozo, so did the temperature. The hope of cloud cover had been carried away by a wind from the west. The once cool breeze had become warm and stifling. Even though it was late in the morning, the heat to come was apparent. Aamir sat in an old Mitsubishi flatbed truck and looked out of the window at the diverse landscape. The rest of his men were in four other vehicles, two at the front, the other two to the car's rear.
