24 BROOKLYN Before Camden even made it back to my house, I beat him there. Jason dropped me off and went back to the bar so he could help Mason. I waited in the dark on the front porch and watched him as he went straight to the pond and washed his hands. I was about to say something when his phone rang. Instead, I hung back in the shadows and listened to him talk to Gabriella Reynolds. She was his friend and judging by the way they talked, they seemed really close.
