Prologue

328 Words
Long, long ago, way before the time of kings and queens, or any written history for that matter, there were Gods and Goddesses roaming the world, freely. We actually even have some whispers of this time in our current written history, usually labeled as myths, wivestales, folklore, and fairytales. Everyone believed in them back then, everyone loved them and worshipped them. And they were strong and powerful. Gifting or striking people down as they see fit. As time went by, however, people stopped believing them and worshipping them, causing their power over the people to begin to dwindle until it was all but nonexistent. Nowadays, there are very few types of people that still believe in them. These people are what we call supernaturals. The witches, ware people, and vampires, to specifically name just a few of them. These people, at one point, also strongly believed in prophecies, even going as far as passing down the stories told by them to their young children, but as the years went on they began to lose hope with little to no sign they would come true. Each generation, when the stories were retold, bits and pieces were left out. Now the prophecies have all but disappeared, becoming just a whisper in the wind. This story is about one of those prophetic stories. This is about the gift promised to all from Hecate, herself, to better living beings, over three thousand years ago, before she left. Like that, this story is the story of a girl who thought she was better alone and that her only true reason to live was to serve those that mistreated her until she could escape her abusers. That is until one day she found out the truth about herself through a dream and the meeting of the one man that could heal her broken soul. Follow Serenity as secrets are usurped and her heart calls for someone she would have never even thought of loving.
