Blaze's POV
It was weird coming back, I thought I would never have to see that place again, and the distance was tearing me apart, but I needed to be there, for me and my mate. I needed to talk to the elders and see what they thought of my change of plans. I was willing to fight them for it, but I hoped it wouldn't be like that.
"What a surprise!" my mother said as she hugged me. "I wasn't expecting you here," she said with a smile, "and certainly not alone, Ramys send word that you had found your fated mate. Where is she?"
"She left me," I said, unable to hide that truth.
"What?! Are you kidding me? Why would she do something like that? Fated mates belong together. Are you sure she was your fated mate?"
"Give him some breathing space, and maybe he can tell us what happened,"
