Alana's POV
It felt like my whole body was on fire, and it was consuming me from within. The pain had started in my stomach, but then it had spread like fire until it stopped and concentrated on my chest. By the time I started feeling the effects of whatever I had eaten, I was already in bed, and even if they never went far away, the beasts gave me some space when they thought I was sleeping. I did my best not to moan or whimper despite the pain, even if I couldn't help but move, curling on myself, trying to get some relief from the pain twisting my insides. I needed to endure as long as I could so they wouldn't have time to reverse what I was doing. It went on for a couple of hours that felt like an eternity, until the pain was so much that I couldn't help but cry out.
