Chapter 25 The truck’s headlights illuminated an overgrown path almost completely obscured by the dense woods. Oriana squinted at her map, sure Sloan’s directions were off. Not that she’d ever been to a lighthouse before, but shouldn’t there be a beacon of light visible for miles to warn ships away from the jagged rocks hidden by high tide? Wasn’t that the point? “We’re here.” Sloan leaned between the seats and grinned at her. “What’s wrong? Did you think I’d get us lost?” “I think we are lost.” She squinted at the darkness and shook her head. “There can’t be a lighthouse here.” “Well, there is.
