Kerry’s stomach churned. Her nerves had been worn and frazzled all day, since she’d left her bag and a note at Lurch’s place at lunch time. She’d gone by then hoping he’d be there, and they’d have a chance to talk before she went back to the main house to help London tackle cleaning and sorting the stuff in the spare bedroom upstairs, but he hadn’t been around, and she’d been reluctant to go in without checking with him first.
