The next afternoon, Lurch had the crew once more up on the roof of the main house. Stretch was in the rafters with the magnet, while Ghost stood at the peak of the roof and started a handful of metal ball bearings rolling down the incline. The little balls stopped where the magnet was being held to the planking on the underside of the roof, effectively marking where the leak was. Watt would gather the bearings, mark the spot, and return the metal balls to Ghost and they would start all over with the next leak. It took them an hour to mark the half dozen leaks, but now that they knew where they were, they could get to work getting them fixed. By the time the sun set, they"d fixed two of the six leaks, and unless they ran into some difficulty, they"d finished the remaining the next day. St
