Ethan Hartley stood by his office window, staring out at the sprawling city below. The commotion of the bustling city seem like a world away from his now quiet, confined life. His fratured leg, strapped and bound in a heavy brace, served as a constant reminder of the tragic accident that had nearly killed him a few months ago. It was a clear wake-up call, an unexpected shift that he had yet to fully comprehend.
His penthouse office, once a haven for late-night meetings and high-stakes decisions, had now reverted back into being another boring part of his home. The confines of the grand space were disrupted by physical therapy equipment, stacks of paperwork, and the regular comings and goings of the medical staff.
Ethan's gaze drifted to the city skyline. His empire stood tall amidst the steel giants, a testament to his achievements. But these days, he felt more like an observer than the puppet master. The injuries sustained had left him with limited physical mobility, but it was the solitude that really eat at him.
His thoughts were interrupted by a gentle knock at the door. His secretary, Mrs. Reynolds, entered a moment later. There was a stack of documents secured in her arms, and following her was a beauitful woman he hadn't seen before. She has a perfect hourglass figure, her afro hair neatly put up into a bun, and her glasses perched on her nose gave her an air of intellect.
"Mr. Chambers," Mrs. Reynolds began, "This is Kassie Donovan, your new personal assistant."
Kassie extended a hand towards him, her bright brown eyes meeting his. There was an earnestness in her gaze that took Ethan by surprise. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hartley."
Ethan returned the handshake, finding himself curious about this new addition to his life. Little did he know that this encounter would herald the beginning of a change, one that would shake his world in ways he couldn't yet imagine.
