“There’s several new girls.” Lisa said looking down. “In a high school.”
I remember how flabbergasted I was thinking that the girls were still in school. Stephen looked down, his fingers on his chin, thinking deeply.
“I’ll go.” Lisa insisted. My thoughts expand towards the memory of knowing that Lisa and Stephen are siblings. They are brother and sister. I swallow, feeling a heavy weight brought down on me.
“I’ll go.” Lisa insisted.
“You can’t go alone Lisa.”
And that’s when I said, “I’ll go with her.”
And now I know how everything got so messed up.
“Riley?” Lisa’s voice is engulfed with surprise. The nurse is giving me hawk eyes, so I quickly exit the room grabbing Lisa’s arm dragging her with me.
