Chapter 26 - New hope
“You don’t like me, do you?” Tess asks as me and her stand in the kitchen busy making tea for everyone. I sigh but don’t give her an answer. Me and her had to share the air mattress as Lilly and Olive depts the couches first. “I’m sorry for being the way I am.” she almost whispers and I frown at her. Is this going to turn out like another Rebecca incident? Trying to solve problems with fakeness and more lies. “It’s just hard.” she says and looks down. “What is?” “To be friendly.” “You seem okay with the other’s.” I look back at them chatting in the living room with Margaret. “I know.” She pours milk in a cup. “Just don’t take it seriously. I purse my lips taking the warm cup in my hand. I sip it, it burns my lips but I love the sensation. Tess walks towards the living room
