Sunshine… Something that is seemingly vague to describe but is one of the things necessary for us to become human. Everything that we see is literally as close as it is to the skies, with clouds acting as our pillows beneath the steel earth that we dwell on, and waters flowing like tears— wrapping around the land like blankets.
In the current year of 2187, a lot of things have drastically changed, from the way the world is shaped, the landscapes, landmarks, and the people that have answered the call of nature. We are tied with something that is greatly beyond our grasp, way beyond the concept of science and faith. From here on out, we are living in a strange, strange world that is really different from the simple moments of peace that humanity had a century ago.
In order to ensure that everyone is held accountable, humanity decided to put a leash on every person. It is called E-Rune, a small choker that is magnetically attached to a person’s spine using Siphon engineering. This said choker acts as a tracking system and a device for economic transactions within the world’s influence. Thus, the only way that a person can take it off is either by dying or being excommunicated by the government. The peace that everyone wanted was at last met, and life has finally reached its peak of comfort. However, is that really the truth or are we ignorant of what it truly means?
