Anabelle's POV
I heard my best friend Andrea yell from the kitchen, "Belle, if you don't get your a*s down here in five minutes, I swear to god that I will be personally coming up there to show you how bad my fist wants to say hi to your face." If I don't move quickly, she's going to murder me for sure. I put on my trainers and shouted, "Gosh woman calm down, I'm coming." She shouted, "You better be, yeah."
I've already imagined that when I go to the kitchen, she's going to send me death glares. "Okay, Drea," I said when I got to the kitchen, "why are you screaming so much?" "You're the reason we'll be late," she said, pointing to the clock that hung on the wall. "Drea, I want to apologise so much." It didn't occur to me how fast the time had passed. It's just that there wasn't an alarm," I said with my best dog face. I thanked her and started to eat my breakfast as she continued, "Okay okay, apologies accepted," "Thanks you're an angel," I said. That is really tasty.
I licked my fingers and said, "You make the best waffles ever," to Andrea. She dragged me out of the kitchen and shouted, "Enough of the flattery, let's get to work." I seized my backpack and threw my laptop and its charger inside. I just try to catch up on my studying for my online interior design school whenever I have free time at the cafe. As I attempted to style my "I just woke up hair," I asked her, "Drea, will you be able to pick me up after work?" Actually, I didn't have time to brush my hair, so why not just put it in a bun instead? A bun will be ideal, I agree. She put her hair up in a ponytail and added, "I'm not sure, but I'll let you know." I asked Drea, "Okay, is this bun good," pointing at my hair, and she just nodded.
We finally arrived to the cafe where I work after a little while. I'm very glad I arrived on time. The cafe's doors were just about to be opened by Mr. Smith and the other workers. I greeted everyone with a smile and a good morning. In exchange, I received some hey and good morning.
I went to put on my waitress uniform as soon as we entered. We all started working as the cafe gradually filled up with its regular patrons. I went to the small group of construction workers that frequented this location frequently. I said, pulling my notepad and pen out of my pocket, "Good morning boys, what can I get you today?" One of the workers, Marco, announced, "We will have 4 breakfast combos with extra bacon and add 4 cups of coffee." I said, "Coming right up boys," as I walked up to the counter.
I handed Brad the paper and said, "Here's the order." Anyway, I enjoy working at the cafe now that I am no longer living with my parents, even though Mr. Smith is a grouchy and harsh boss. From the kitchen, Brad screamed, "Belle, your order is ready" I took the order and gave it to the soldiers who were starving. I remarked, "Have a nice meal guys," and I walked away.
After the first half of the day, I can finally take my lunch break because Madisson, my successor, has arrived. I said, "Hey Madi, if you need any assistance, I'm in the staff room," She greeted me and nodded. I went to my locker and grabbed my bag.
It's time to study. My laptop was on my lap when I sat down on the sofa. I went into my student account and got to work on my homework. Oh, the university sent me an email. What!!!! I've been selected to participate in a Beauty Bliss internship. One of the most well-known interior design firms is that one. I have never had an opportunity like this.
I must get in touch with them now. I'm so anxious, but I'm also delighted. I began to dance joyfully. I was singing, "I feel good tadadada... I feeee-," when I heard sound coming from the corridor. I peered out the door, but nobody was there. Oh, that was strange. Let's start working. I mean research.
As soon as Madisson entered the room, she stated to Ara, "You up now. It's my break." I said, "Madi, I've been chosen for an internship with Beauty Bliss," expecting for a response. She shouted, "Oh my god, you lucky girl, that is the most amazing thing," and gave me a big embrace. She shooed me away and said, "Okay, now get to work before Mr. Smith notices your absence."
The day passed by very quickly because I wasn't even aware that it was getting close to closing time. My attention was drawn as my phone began to ring. Greeting the caller, "Hello Anabelle Lopez speaking," I said. Mrs. Johnson is speaking. I called to see if you could watch my kid tonight, said Mrs. Johnson.
It's a good thing I'm babysitting to make more money because it was the only way for my parents to stop sending me money every month so they could save the money for some other important things. Anyways let's just get this work done. "Yes sure ma'am, you just text me the time and the instruction," I said and with that I hung up.
I contacted Andrea after work, but she won't be able to pick me up, so I need to go to the bus stop quickly so I don't miss the final bus home. "Bye Madi," I said as I observe her getting into her boyfriend's automobile. I hastened to halt.
I arrived at the bus stop just as it was about to depart. I yelled, "Nooooooooooo wait," but in vain. Oh my god. I almost made the bus. Oh gosh. I groaned in exasperation, "Why does this happen to meeeee?" I began to go along the street while fiddling with my bag's strap. I suddenly started to feel like someone was watching me. I looked around and noticed a man who is unable to even walk straight. Squat squat squat. I tried to accelerate, but I lost my footing and fell.
The ominous man remarked, "Hello there beautiful, wanna have fun." The spooky man spoke. He lifted me up by grabbing my hand. He began to press himself against me. This won't take place. I shoved him, causing him to fall. I gave him a boot to the balls before turning to flee towards my flat.
As soon as I turned, I made contact with a firm chest and almost fell, but I felt hands grab my waist and stop me. In the dim light, I was unable to see the person's face, but I could tell that they had an iron body. I wager that the accident will create a small bump to develop on my forehead.
From behind, groans could be heard. I broke free from the man's arm right away and fled for my life. That was close, sh*t. I pondered as I travelled back home. I was no longer strolling; instead, I was sprinting erratically. I at last made it home. It's wonderful to be back home.
Oh sh*t, Mrs. Johnson was meant to drop her child. My phone notified me that I wasn't running late and that she would arrive in about fifteen minutes. I hurriedly got into the shower to attempt to forget what had happened before. The other man who caught me while I was falling was who? I assumed he was with the spooky intoxicated man, but that was not the case. I was so frightened at the time that I was unable to think clearly. I shouldn't be concerned about this right now, though. I'm secure here.
After I had finished my shower, Mrs. Johnson and Brandon, her baby, arrived. After giving me all the directions, she left Brandon and me. I adore this infant. He is very adorable and never stops laughing and grinning. I walked over to the couch and asked, "Hey baby, what do you wanna do? Watch a movie."
Brandon tried to speak and said, "Es. Sponge Bob..Bob." It is a movie. This one-year-old is just a little bundle of joy. I gave Brandon his milk while watching Sponge Bob, which is my all-time fave cartoon, and he gradually went asleep in my arms. How adorable he is while he sleeps. As I watched my cartoon, I placed him in the cot.
Andrea returned home with lunch two hours later, but Brandon was still asleep. Andrea said, "Oh, you're watching the kids today," and I nodded. I said, "Mrs Johnson wanted my help so yeah," as I checked on Brandon. Andrea yelled from the kitchen, "Belleee, your phone is ringing, it's your mum."
I said to the woman as I entered the kitchen, "Geez calm down woman, we have a baby who is sleeping." I picked up the phone, "Hello mum," I said. She asked, "Hey honey, how are you," and I replied. Mom added, "Me and your father are taking a month off, so we were thinking if you could watch your sister in the interim." I replied, "Sure, mum. When do I need to come collect her?" She replied, "I'll be dropping her off tomorrow morning.
I'm glad my sister will be coming. Despite the enormous age disparity between us, I genuinely missed her. Six is the age of my little sister. Yes, I am aware that a sixteen-year gap is a lot. She is frequently mistaken for being my daughter. We still resemble each other despite the fact that she has my mom's brown hair and I have my dad's blonde hair. A lot. She is such a cute young girl, in either case. I cherish the time I spend with her.
I went to lunch with Andrea and told her what mum told me after talking to her for another fifteen minutes. "It's been a long time since your sister came. I started missing her," Andrea said as she bit into the pizza. I was, however, stuffing myself silly. When I eat, I never really give a damn what other people think. Food is everything to me.
At our favourite restaurant, Andrea once attempted to steal my french fries, and I nearly punched her. I'm glad she deflected my punch. Everyone who is close to me is aware of my love for eating. She waved her palm in front of me and said, "Belle you zoned out. What were you thinking?" "Actually I was thinking of when I nearly punched you because -" she interrupted me. She finished, "I tried to take one of your french fries," and then burst out laughing.
I responded, "Yeah, what can I say, I love my food, Drea," to which Andrea started laughing herself silly and threw herself off the chair. She calmed down when I remarked, "Calm down woman, you'll wake Brandon up." This woman is insane. I shook my head and replied, "s**t, I almost forgot." She questioned, "What," while glancing at me dubiously. I shouted, "I got chosen for an internship at Beauty Bliss!" When she finally understood what I was saying, she jumped on me and gave me a bear hug. Wailing erupted out of the living room at that very moment. I rushed to the baby and yelled, "Crap, we just woke Brandon up."
