The building materialised before us like something conjured from ancient memory. Stone walls covered in luminescent moss, towers that spiralled towards clouds I couldn't name, and a door carved with symbols that hurt my eyes to examine. Sara stood at the entrance, arms folded, looking unbothered by the fact she'd abandoned us to walk under that merciless sun. Her pale skin hadn't flushed despite the heat. Of course it hadn't. "Took you long enough," she said, pushing the door open without touching it. Inside felt like stepping into a cathedral built for giants.
