CHAPTER 20: SUPREMO

POV: Eris

Adam immediately pushed the brake in shock when an odd woman deliberately ran at the front of our car. Thankfully, it didn't hit her, or something. "You okay?" he asked scanning my body with his concerned eyes.

"Yeah, I'm okay" I said with a deep exhaled came out of my lungs. Where was that woman came from? What was she doing?

"HELP... PLEASE HELP!!!" she cried gasping and looking for aid in front of us as if hugging the hood of our car. She then ran towards the driver's door knocking its window desperately.

"Please... help me!!! Someone tried to kill me" she continued to announced outside the car hopelessly. I unbuckled my seatbelt and tried to open my door but Adam, "No, stay here" he said then came out of the car to talk to the stranger. The woman has a loose dirty faded floral white dress with nothing on her feet. She certainly looks like gone in some kind of struggle that caused bruises and scratches on her skin. I opened down my window.

"Are you okay, Mam? What happened?" Adam asked trying to calm down the helpless woman that I think was in her late twenty's. She has a long straight hair up to the middle of her back. The sky started to get angry as the lightning flashes across the thick dark clouds followed by a raucous and terrifying thunder that can be heard through the city that adds to the forming apprehension I felt in my chest.

"He's after me! He's gonna kill me..." she stuttered holding Adam in his arms pleading. "We need to get out of here" then swiftly ran to the car but Adam blocked her.

"Mam, relax! You need to calm down" he said holding the woman on her right arm.

"We'll call the police and then take you there but first I need to make sure you don't have any harmful object"

"I'll call the police" I stated while watching from the car. "Pleaseeeee!!.. There's no more time. Get me out of here!" the woman shouted in despair and fear. The line rang after I dialed the number and then a tall man in white long sleeves, black tie, shoes and pants suddenly grab my hand.

"You don't have to call the police" he looked at me with a timid but more of a wicked smile. The woman immediately stunned, her eyes widened and stepped backward. Adam instinctively walked quickly towards me and grab the man's hand out of mine.

The uncanny man said, "I'm sorry if I surprised you" looking at me; and "I'm his husband and she's sick" then looked at Adam.

The woman then immediately opened the car get herself in. I can't say anything. What would I do? Get her out or let her in to keep her safe. But what if she do anything harm to me.... but I think I can protect myself from her.

"Please... I.. I know you I saw you in T.V.. I'm not sick, please help me" she begged.

"Uhmmm.." I mumbled. She had bruises on her wrist like she was tied tightly.

"Schizophrenia. She has schizophrenia, she hurt herself and she hurt people... No... you need to stay away from her" warned by the man who claimed that he is her husband. Then he took out from her pocket a small bottle of medicine, saying it's hers. I reached the door's lock to get out when suddenly the woman on the driver's seat turned the car on.

"Thank you" I said while Adam started to drive away from the scene. He looked at me and smiled and pat my head. "You know, I felt something strange with those two" I remember how Adam blocked the car and swiftly dashed to hold the woman's hand to stop her from the wheel. It's just happened too fast. I even get a chance to think if Adam's speed is normal or I don't know.

Her husband thanked us before escorted her back to their apartment.

"But that's far as we can do, she's sick and confuse" he said and the rain started to pour. I know Adam also felt strange earlier but what could we do. They know each other and the medicine he showed us, yeah, it's for people with mental issues. I snapped when Adam held me on my shoulder, "We're here" he then turned off the car key.

"You want some real food?" Adam asked as he put my bag on the sofa. "Uhmm yeah, but I'll be the one to cook tonight" I smiled. I wanted to cook for him, to do something for him and it's the least that I can do.

"Are you sure?" he asked again and I nodded as an answer. I prepared the ingredients and chopped some vegetables. I started the stove to boil some water for the ramen that I will make which is perfect for now's thunderstorm. When the water was already boiling, I put the noodles and chopped some side dishes then all of a sudden the light went off. "Aaahh!" I felt a sting on my finger. I cut myself.

"What happened?" Adam immediately ran in the kitchen to check on me.

"Its nothing" I smiled but its bleeding. "What's with the light?" I asked.

"Blackout" he said then turned off the stove and assisted me towards the sofa. "Stay here I'll get the med box" he said and I nodded.

POV: Adam

"I should have really cooked tonight" I said while treating Eris' wound on his forefinger. "Aaahhh, it stings a little" he reacted. I was sitting beside him on the sofa and the meds was on the center table.

"Sorry" I uttered in a low voice and smirked. It's kinda cute but cliche scene like we're in some romantic TV series I'd saw, then I blew on his wound before I patch it with band aid as I remembered some scene that I watched.

"Why're you smiling?" he complained then pouted. "Nothing" I chuckled then looked at him but he looked away. He's really cute.

"Just an electricity disturbances caused by the thunderstorm" Eris said after he read silently the message sent by the condominium management.

POV: Eris

Few days later...

"What happened?" I asked myself verbally as I was wondering why there are police and media inside the old 5th storey apartment building on which we passed by almost every day few minutes away from our apartment. It's the same street where we encountered the helpless woman.

"I think an incident happened last night" Adam answered slowing down the car. I looked at him, his eyes on the road, "What do you think happened? Don't you think something happened to that woman? What if the man was really going to kill her?" I asked out of pity and worried then clutched my pants. I don't know,... I felt weird that there's something wrong with that man since last night. My feeling was strong, I know it.

"Eris," Adam called. "Hmmm?" I mumbled then he held my hand without looking at me. "There's nothing we can do. We can't... we shouldn't interfere in other people's business. I don't want you to get into trouble" he stated and I held back his hand and nodded. I still curious or should I say in much wonder that there's always an incident happening in that apartment building. Suicide. Homicide. Accident. And the latest was just three months ago.

The garden was full of white and pink roses, tulips and carnations designed in a glamorous and fine arrangements. Each curtains, chairs and tables were in white and pink motif. The aisle was covered in white carpet and bathed in petals scattered like a stars beneath their feet by the fictional fairies. Every gust of wind will smell the fragrance of thousands flowers arranged paradise-like settings. The mellifluous song brought by the waves on the near beach will as well be heard that compliments to the wedding march.

Everyone was excited to see the bride as one by one the wedding march participants walk the aisle gracefully and joyfully. Eris as Lily's bestfriend stood as the ceremony's 'man of honor' or the 'bridesman'. Adam was stationed southwest of the gathering guarding and watching firmly on me, 'his mate' as he called it. He is wearing a black suit and tie that fits him perfectly which brought out more of his elegance and manliness and hunkiness. I giggled inside. 'Eris, stay focus. It's Sam and Lily's wedding, stop those erotic thoughts'

Finally, the bride appeared before all of our eyes. She was stunning! I really love her and now that she's marrying the man of her dreams, I am really really happy for her. We're best friends since I can remember and she stood for me, all those times so I will always be her side though she now has her forever. We will still best friends forever, right Sam? I looked at Sam long enough that he felt someone was looking at him. Sam angled his head to the left a little bit and opened his mouth 'What?' inaudibly the moment he saw me looking at him fiercely, then I chuckled and him as well. He understood my message.

The wedding ceremony went well. It was such a wonderful matrimony between two souls knitted together through this said ordinance kept and bounded by promise and truth and love. The reception was also held on the same beach resort at the indoor hall near the pool. The hall has a chandelier at the center and was decorated similar at the wedding ground. This resort was beautiful indeed. What about the food? Well, I can barely talk because my mouth is full. Talking. Laughing. Dancing. Eating. The sun set and the other guests has already left the venue one by one and, only the closest friends and families remained to celebrate overnight with us, with the bride and groom. It's been long since I unwind like this from the stress of showbiz world.

Adam came back to our table and sat down with a piece of cake on his hand, "Uhm" he mumbled handing me the dessert. "Thanks" I smiled without parting my lips.

"How sweet!" Lily teased while walking towards us holding hands with his husband.

"Stop" I said then chuckled. "So, where do you plan to go for your honeymoon after this?" I asked.

"You already know that!!" my best friend shrieked a little. I open my eyes wide and said, "Maldives" Lily also said simultaneously to mine. Sam escorted Lily to sat down then him also beside her.

"Oh How sweet!" I teased the back, "That's just now, after years you'll end up to divorce" I joked seriously then took the last champagne on my glass. Immediately I laughed then Lily looked at me fiercely and she also laughed. Well, that's how are friendship went strong 'trash talking'.

"Can I tag along?" I asked after that loud laugh. She frowned but more of 'I don't get it' .

"On your honeymoon, can I come with you?" I explained. Sam and Lily looked at Adam then me and laughed. I know what they're thinking!

"With Adam? Sure!" Lily teased. Why my teasing always end up back at me?

"Double honeymoon!!" she joked again that made me feel quite shy that I want to disappear in front of the other relatives and guest, especially in front of Adam.

"No!! You know, I'm gonna get some...ahmm" I firmly disagree. Am I?

"But he's your bodyguard, he must go wherever you'll go" she squinted her eyes and leaned forward to the table to me.

"I'm out, I know where this conversation will go" I chuckled while standing up because its getting hot here. I looked at Adam and swiftly looked away when I saw he's also looking at me.

"I gotta get champagne" I tantrum on everyone on the table before leaving the joyful conversation.

"I'm your bestfriend, of course, I know how your dirty mind works" she chuckled again. Urgggghh! that's embarrassing. It turns out that I want to sleep with Adam that bad. I hate this, I never won with Lily in every discussion. Adam followed me that I didn't even notice until I get to the wine bar.

"You already had three bottles, Eris. This's enough" Adam get the glass on my hand and put it again on the table.

"What's wrong with you? I'm enjoying the night!" I said. I stood straight then get stumbled a bit that caused me to held on his shoulder. He held me back on my waist. "See, you're drunk" he said and smiled.

"A little" I stood again straight looking directly at his eyes and I squinted my eyes. "I can still walk and talk, if not you're there to escort me, right?" I chuckled. He exhaled. "Come on, I'll take you to your room" Adam requested.

"Uhmm, excuse me, can we have a picture with you?" one of the three girl asked as she showed us her phone.

"Sure" I said then Adam took her phone and give way for the girls to get their position beside me.

"Hmm... No, its you, Sir. We wanted to take pictures with you, if you wouldn't mind" the second girl said to Adam. What do I just heard? They want pictures on Adam? Not me? I'm the celebrity here!! Anyway, I looked at Adam, now moving in a selfie position at the midst of these lovely chicks. Not only one picture but two then three then another girl raised her phone to take some again. 'Oh so you're enjoying it'

I walked out of the scene because I might be a nuisance on their new formed friendship. I took again the wine from the table before completely exited their flirtation get together. Yeah, I'm a bit dizzy. I bumped on the waiter's shoulder, "I'm sorry" I apologized without looking at his face then turned back.

"Are you okay, sir?" he held me on my arm tightly.

"Yeah, totally" then I tried to walked away again but his grip was strong.

"Let me escort you to your quarters, sir" he requested then smiled. I can still saw his familiar smile through lights though a bit hazily. Without me nodding or anything he put my arm around his shoulders and his hand on my waist. What is happening? Well, some kind stranger offered some help, that's it. And... wait... what's happening my head was spinning.

POV: Adam

"Excuse me, ladies" I said for me to exit after we took photos and introduced ourselves to each other. They said they really admire me for being the bodyguard of the one of the rising star today. And he's my mate, my love and not only that I'm his bodyguard. I smirked inside for the butterflies I felt on my bosom.

"Thanks Adam" they waved goodbye and I too. I looked around the hall but I see him not.

"Excuse but have you seen the guy with me earlier?" I asked the ladies.

"Eris Williams?" one asked I think I saw her on TV as well, but anyway.

"No... I know he's just right here" she answered.

"Thanks" I said. Maybe he went back to our table. I immediately walked back to Lily's and Sam's.

"Where's Eris?" Lily immediately asked me wondering as I get to them. This is bad. Really bad.

"He's not here?" I asked. Now, I literally felt a sweat walked down my forehead.

"What do you mean he's not here? He's with you remember?" she said sarcastically, and simultaneously with Sam, "He hasn't come back here yet" Sam uttered calmly but it obvious with his tone he's also a bit confused.

"I thought..." I uttered then I clenched my fist. Where did he go?

"Adam, don't tell me you don't know where he is?" Lily said in a bit high tone.

"Lily, relax. Nothing bad will happen to him. That's why we held it privately... even the media knows nothing about our wedding" Sam calmed down his wife.

She stood up and exhaled deeply "Let's just look for him" she said.

"Have you called him?" Sam asked me and I nodded. "I see, let's split up and ask" he commanded.

"I'll go to his room" Lily walked quickly and anxiously.

Lily went to his quarters, Sam look at the resort's hall, café and bar. I looked everywhere, every corner and every premises of the said resort. At the beach, at the pool, bar, rooms and everywhere but we found him not. Wait... at the comfort room, I didn't yet check the restrooms. Sam asked for the management's permission for us to look on their CCTV and they permit us to.

"Adam, you need to see this. We're here at the Control Room" Sam called as I continuously look for Eris near at the beach. No--, not what I think it is. How stupid I am to loose him again. I clenched my phone and ran as fast as I could.

"This is not the first time he lost Eris" Lily said hysterically and angrily as I opened the door of the room, "Right, Adam?" she smirked.

I walked towards the screen my sweat are all over my face and body. My heart was racing both of fear and of anger. I felt certain annoyance on myself. This is all my fault! The staff played again the video from the beginning and I was surprised to what I saw..... Damn it! That guy... I'm gonna kill him this time! Without knowing I punched the wooden table and it cracked to the forced I exerted.

"Did you do it properly this time?" a huge and deep voice of a man from the phone talking to a black suited man on the driver's seat on a black car parked at the unknown desolated road.

"Yes, Supremo" the guy on the car smirked.
