Carris sighed as she got into her car. She never expected Eric to cheat on her but Eric was always honest with her, she was damn sure he wouldn't do such.
"I should forget this and try something new, maybe," She told herself and turned the key.
When she reached home, her snarky aunt was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and raising a brow at her.
"Mrs. Shalewood called me, Carris. She said your wedding with Eric should be called off. What happened?" She asked, stifling a laugh.
Not only her aunt was snide but also a wicked and cruel woman. She ran a hand through her silky blonde hair that reached to the nape of her neck. She had bright red glossy lipstick that she thinks made her look seductive.
"Yes, I broke up with Eric," Carris replied at last, not looking at her aunt.
"It's good. Now, Eric has choices to consider… You know what I mean, Carris," She smiled, her eyes gleamed with devilish intentions.
"I know. You want your daughter Blair McLawney to marry him, right? I'm no obstacle anymore. Go ahead Miss Bloom McLawney, I won't stand by your daughter's way," Carris smirked and strode upstairs, gritting her teeth.
While she was almost dashing into her bedroom, a girl around the age of twenty-five stood on her way. She was elegant and was well-dressed.
"So, the rich boy's gonna be mine, Carris. A correction, he had already been mine, it was you who snatched him away from me but let me remind you dear Carris, that love comes from the heart and cannot be gained with force," She giggled.
"I don't want that jerk anyway, take him back. I'm bored with him, I'm looking for the next guy," Carris snapped back and pushed Blair by the arm and walked into her bedroom. She slammed the door and collapsed in her bed.
"Don't any of you guys think that you won. I don't need you, Eric. I will find a guy who'll bring me all I need and understand me better than any other man in the world. I will show all of you," She whispered. A droplet of tear escaped from the corner of her eyes and drenched the tiny strand of her auburn hair.
She sniffed for a moment or two in silence and immediately grabbed her phone.
"Grace, prepare me for a blind date with a fantastic and popular guy. If possible, today itself," She talked into the phone.
"Whoa! What happened, Carris. Is everything alright?"
"I've broken up with Eric and I'm deciding to start afresh. No more questions through the phone, we'll discuss in person about this. You gotta set me this blind date I requested, okay?"
"Carrie, what has gotten into you. You're being so spontaneous--"
"I told you, Grace, no more questions. Just do as I say if I'm your best friend or tell me if you can't do it."
"I will, of course, help you out. But--"
"Thank you. Ring me when everything is done. Alright? Bye."
Carris hung up the call and threw her phone on the bed.
"I'll show you Eric," She muttered, clenching her fist tightly.
