Chapter 34

986 Words

Lucas pulled out his phone and called Levi, asking if he could pick them up at the edge of the forest. Levi agreed, he knew Lucas should have taken the blood bag he offered him hours ago. Lucas gave Ella his shirt and jacket so she wouldn't be wet and cold. His shirt fell to her knees and the jacket sleeves had to be rolled up multiple times. Ella thought she looked ridiculous but Lucas thought she looked cute. It was then in the late afternoon, when Maui suddenly had a blackout. The sun was already setting, and a strong wind was blowing over the island. Ella shivered, pulling Lucas's jacket closer to her body. Lucas wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his chest. Lucas's body temperature rose unnaturally, providing warmth for his mate while also using the last of his energy.
