Vow
Hunter watched the horror grow on
his wife's face as he held the little white bootie up to the monitor. Despite
the distance between them, he could feel her despair nearly overwhelm her as
she bit her lips and tried to keep from breaking down. Around her, the other
Guardians looked just as devastated.
"With this, I can lock onto
Callie's signature," he told them. "It's only a matter of time before
I'll find her."
"But what about
DiMackerlyn?" Disaster asked.
"I hope she's with him. That
way I can bring them both back with me."
"Hunter."
The tone in Deceiver's voice was one
he recognized and hated, but understood. The Guardian leader had made a
decision and knew it was one he wouldn't like, but had no choice but to obey.
