Hugo has nothing left but his intense hatred for women after Joyce's confession about her genuine aim of getting close to him and making him fall in love with her so she could have access to his wealth. That was something he couldn't comprehend. He thought Joyce was madly in love with him, but she was a cunning liar. He was utterly disgusted with her and knew he never wanted to see her again.
They were all rushing to pack their belongings, and while they were doing so, Harvey appeared in Hugo's condominium unit with a surprised expression on his face. He had no idea what was going on, but he knew whatever it was, it wasn't going to be a positive event for him. He looked Hugo in the eyes and received nothing but a chilly stare reflecting back at him.
