*8 years later*   The doorbell rang as my foot hit the bottom step to the staircase.  Perfect timing.  It rang again as I crossed through the living room, making my way towards the front door. And a third time as I made it to the foyer.  I let out a laugh, unlocking the front door to reveal Mary. She was innocently smiling up at me, as though she hadn't just incessantly rang my doorbell.  "Sorry," Kimberly apologized, with a laugh. "She has a thing for doorbells."  "I just like the sound that they make," Mary defended.  "Well aren't you going to give your Aunt Aubrey a hug?" I challenged.  Mary barreled into me, wrapping her small arms around me with a squeal.  "I've missed you," I said, lightly pressing my lips to the top of her head.  I ushered Kimberly and Mary inside, closing the door
