Damien

Damien's back was a canvas of pain, marred by the deep, raw wounds inflicted by the whip. Each cut was a testament to the brutality of Dominic's torture. The scars crisscrossed each other, creating a grotesque pattern of agony. They were healed, but the skin was still sensitive and tender to the touch. His arms were covered in burns, the flesh blistered and blackened. The smell of charred skin was sickening, and Damien had to fight the urge to vomit every time he caught a whiff of it. The pain was excruciating, a constant reminder of the fire that had been used to torture him. There were bite marks on his neck, his chest, his arms, and his legs. Each one was deep and had drawn blood, leaving behind a trail of bruises and swelling. The pain was dull, but constant, a reminder of the wolves who had taken turns sinking their teeth into his flesh. His face was bruised and swollen, his eyes almost swollen shut. He could feel the cuts on his lip, the bruising on his cheekbones, and the broken nose. It was hard to breathe, and he had to take shallow, careful breaths to avoid the pain. Damien was locked up in a cold and dark cell. Alpha Dominic had ordered for him to be imprisoned ever since he openly opposed his marriage to Katherina, the alpha's daughter. As Damien sat there in the damp and eerie cell, his thoughts wandered to his mate, the one he knew he was destined to be with. Katherina was not his mate, and he would never marry her, no matter what the consequences may be. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps interrupted his thoughts, and he looked up to see Alpha Dominic and Luna Monique standing before him. "What do you want?" Damien growled, his tone laced with bitterness. Dominic's eyes bore into Damien's, "You know exactly what I want. You will marry Katherina, and you will uphold your duty to this pack and your family. Your refusal to do so is an act of betrayal." "I will not marry someone who is not my mate," Damien said defiantly, standing up to face the alpha. Dominic stepped closer to Damien, his voice growing harsher. "You will do as I say, or I will take away your title as heir to the Silvester pack." Damien's eyes narrowed, "You have no other heirs. Aurelius will not take my place, and you know it." Dominic sneered, "Aurelius will inherit everything, and you will have nothing but your heritage from me. I will strip you of your power and everything else you love if you do not comply with my wishes." Damien glared at Dominic, "You cannot force me to do something that goes against my heart." Dominic raised his hand and slapped Damien across the face, "You are weak, just like your father Edward. You have not lived up to your potential, and you are letting your emotions cloud your judgment." Damien rubbed his cheek, feeling the sting of the alpha's blow. "I will not back down from what I believe in. I refuse to marry Katherina." Dominic's eyes flashed with anger, and he kicked away a dish of spaghetti that Luna Monique had snuck in for Damien. "You will come to your senses, Damien. This marriage is not just about you and Katherina. It is about the future of our pack and the Silvester name. You have a duty to uphold, and you will do it." "I can secure our future without marrying Katherina," Damien said. "I have a plan that will benefit both our packs." Dominic laughed, his voice echoing off the walls of the cell. "You have no plan," he said. "You're weak, just like your father. You're just like your father, always putting your own desires above the good of the pack. It's time for you to grow up, Damien. Time for you to become the alpha you were meant to be." Damien felt a surge of anger at the mention of his father. "Leave him out of this," Damien said through gritted teeth. “I have only one father, and it’s you.” Dominic continued, ignoring Damien's words. "Your twin, Aurelius, will inherit it all, and you will have nothing but your heritage from me. I will strip you of your power, your wealth, and everything else you love." That's when Damien noticed something strange in the corner of my cell. It was a small piece of fur, tinged with red. I immediately recognized it as belonging to my pet wolf, Leira. Panic flooded through me as I realized what that could mean. "Where did you get that?" He demanded, His voice shaking with rage. Dominic just smirked, clearly enjoying his reaction. "Oh, just a little gift from Leira. She made a fine feast for the family last night." He felt his heart drop at his words. Days turned into weeks, and Damien remained locked up in his cell, his only companion being the cold, hard walls. His mind raced with thoughts of his mate, and he longed to see her again. If only she knew.. His mate had not turned seventeen yet, so she couldn’t possibly have known. Besides, if her wolf was too weak she couldn’t even shift, would she be able to feel his? Just when I was about to give up hope, I heard a faint scratching sound coming from the wall behind me. At first, I thought it was my imagination, but as the sound grew louder, I realized that someone was trying to dig their way into my cell. A few minutes later, a hole appeared in the wall, and I saw a familiar face looking back at me. It was Luna Monique, my own mother. "Quick, come on!" she whispered urgently, gesturing for me to climb through the hole. "We don't have much time." Without hesitation, I scrambled through the hole and followed her through a series of narrow tunnels that led us out of the dungeon and into the woods. "Mother," I gasped, my legs feeling like jelly from the lack of movement. “What are you doing? He’s going to to kill you with his bare hands.” "Shh, we need to keep moving," she replied, glancing over her shoulder nervously. "Dominic will have his hunters out looking for us. Cross the bridge and you can talk. Just not now." As we ran through the woods, I couldn't help but feel a sense of despair. "Damien, listen to me," She said, grabbing my arm to stop me. "Don’t come back to find me. I can’t afford to let him ruin you anymore. Go. And never to come back. Go!"
