"Heidi, stop it." A pair of strong hands pulls me away from the dead body that was butchered from head to toe. With tears flowing on my cheeks and the seering pain of my injured leg, I crash towards Austin.
I don't even give a damn at all. My hysterical laugh and sob fills the air as I sit there- my face on his chest. I wipe my tears and mucus off on his white shirt- just hopelessly wrapped on his warm embrace. He takes off his navy blue coat and wraps it tightly on my leg to prevent more blood from oozing out.
I can't stand up and I refuse to look at the huge bite mark on my calf for it will make my panic attack even worse.
He holds me tight, rocking me gently as my body seems small against his large built.
"It's going to be alright. Let me take you back home immediately. I have to tend to your wound before the poison reaches your heart," he said as he plants a kiss on my forehead.
I did not think much of it but there's something in his words that holds a subliminal message.
Brushing my hair to the side, I nod. He carries me with his right arm on my legs and another on my back. Careful not to fracture my limp body, he moves swiftly.
"Where were you?" With a shaky voice, I asked.
"I'm sorry, Buttercup. I thought you did not want me anymore. So I kept my distance. It will never happen again. I promise."
I breathe in the frigid air around me to look back at the beast a foot away from me. The body slowly turns into ashes from its muzzle to its paws.
A whirl of black smoke spins around us and it's about time when we reach my home.
Out of all the unfortunate days that I had. These moment in my life is the darkest.
As soon as I smell faint vanilla and tonka bean, I am aware that we are back at my living room. He switches the bright yellow main light and gently puts me down on the leather couch chair as he walks to the kitchen with long strides.
I hiss at the sting of the fresh bite mark that is conveniently covered by a cloth. In a second, he reappears with a glass filled with a quarter of clear fluid.
Meeting his blue eyes, I frown, "What is this?"
"Water," he said like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
"Is it only water?" Maybe he put something...a potion, maybe. Suddenly, it hit me. My heart thumps like it's clawing out of my chest. I let out a cry as I grip on the hem of my shirt.
He pushes the glass just inches away from my face, his tone urgent, "Just drink it. We don't have much time. It's beginning to travel to your heart."
I take a huge gulp of water and gives it to him. By a second, my eyesight is getting blurry. I can't hear much of what he's saying as I stare onto him. He grits his teeth that only emphasizes his string jawlines, his eyes bluer than the deepest blues, lips soft-
"Are you listening to me? Stay with me here," his hands touch my cheeks, lightly tapping it. "Listen carefully. I am going to possess you, Buttercup. It is the only way for me to heal your wound and stop the poison from spreading. You have to give me a permission now," he said it with desperation.
Discombobulated, I slowly say, "What?"
