"We are here counselor" he announced parking in front of my house, I looked around and saw we have really arrived, I didn't even know he drove off from the mansion talkless of already arriving in my home.
"Thanks" I whispered not even sparing him a glance, I opened the car door and walked out before I slammed it shut, before I could turn he also walked out of the car and jogged to where I was standing.
I raised an eyebrow looking at him why isn't he leaving? He smiled "well Counselor You haven't introduced yourself" he stated still smiling, I must admit he is quite handsome especially when he smiles.
"You already know my name, so I don't think I need to do any introductions" I replied forcing a smile without even making an attempt to hide it's forced, his smile grew wider as he stepped towards me.
"I can call you with your name then Counselor?" He questioned obviously amused by something, I chuckled also taking a step forward "I don't think we are that close" I bit out obviously angry.
I have already thanked him for bringing me here so why is he trying to cross the line "we will be soon, once you move into the mansion" he replied his smile disappearing before I could respond he turned about to leave.
Wait.... How the f**k did he know I am moving into the mansion, as far as I remember Maddox and I were the only people in the room when we made the deal.
"Hey how did you find out about that" I yelled curiosity getting the best of me, he stopped walking and slowly turned "Maddox told me" he replied shortly, I furrowed my brows "and why did he tell you" I questioned starting to feel really embarrassed.
So he already knows everything that happened and I was acting all Arrogant and prideful, "because I am his best friend" he whispered before opening his car door, "so even that bastard has friends while I have non?" I whispered to myself.
"I can also be your friend" Rook offered smiling again, I forced a smile before I stepped back "no need" without waiting for his reply I turned and headed for the house door.
Why don't I have any friends? If a person like Maddox Kane can have friends why can't I? I opened the house and walked in before I closed the door, I turned on the lights before I slowly dragged my feet to the nearest couch and collapsed on it.
The living room was a mess, with papers scattered all around, and some clothes with plates of food and snacks, I sighed angrily as I remembered how I spent two weeks without doing anything but only preparing for this case only to end up like this.
I really thought I was going to win, I had enough evidence and witnesses, so of course I thought I was going to win, I thought I would get a promotion be famous as the young prosecutor that sent the vipers kings Leader to jail.
I thought my life would change and yes it really did change, but not in the way I f*****g planned, I pushed myself up and started cleaning the living room, I picked all the papers and disposed them all without even caring to check if some are important.
Well there weren't enough to get him behind bars so even if I keep them there would be no help in the future, the evidence I gather from within his mansion is what I would use to send him to jail.
I quickly did the dishes and cleaned the living room before I walked to my room, my room was also a mess, I bit my lower lip out of anger as I placed my hands on my hips, I am already tired.
Taking in a deep breath and exhaling I quickly started cleaning the room, immediately I was done I started packing some of my clothes in a suitcase and that's when I realized I didn't really have a lot of casual clothes almost all of them are suits.... Black and white.
I looked at the suits remembering how I used to pe respected in them, but now I am nothing, just a suspended lawyer who lost her job,pride and everything in less than 24 hours.
I quickly closed the closet as tears started welling up in my eyes, I blinked them back and closed the suitcase before I dragged it to the living room, and that was when I remembered I forgot something really important, I rushed back to the room and picked my side bag.
It has a stun gun, paper spray and a recorder inside everything in it would certainly come in handy, with one last look around the house I said my goodbyes to it and headed for the door, now I have to check up on my mother.
I kept everything inside the car before I entered the drivers seat, I turned on the car and started driving to st Mary's hospital, I wonder how she is doing? I am not working now so how can I really be able to take care of the hospital bills?
I had to leave in such a small house in the back town street and drive such a small car just to be able to pay up the bills with my salary, but now that I am on suspension with no salary how can I pay it.
My head was already beginning to throb from thinking too much so I shook away the thought, I would think about that later, I parked the car in the parking lot before I walked out and locked the car.
This is the first time I am visiting my mother without bringing anything, I really forgot to grab her something or even cook for her, I sighed before I turned and walked to the hospital entrance.
"Yes it's here" some people whispered as I walked pass them, my heart skipped a beat when I remembered I was all over the news, no no my mother couldn't have also seen it right?
I started rushing to her room with each step I take my heart best Increasing, I could feel tears well up in my eyes at the thought of how my mother would regret after seeing the news I really hope she didn't see it.
