Luca waited until each of the others was clear of the corridor before he checked Rӓv’s position one last time and slipped from the room. The east section of the WIC’s compound contained three buildings, two medium sized buildings and a relatively small building. Luca decided that he’d do the small building first and get it finished quickly. Especially after he watched Zeno go into the first of the two medium buildings and Desmond go into the second.
Best to give them some time to get away from the entrances. Luca had decided the sections based on skill and familiarity giving Holly the least amount of area to investigate since Luca wasn’t sure how fast and thorough he was. Ghost was given the more complicated area because he was particularly fast and stealthy when searching. Luca had separately asked Tails to search the dorm building basement before moving to his area which Luca had made the second smallest. Maybe there is something here for two other leaders to also come this way or they used the same elimination method.
According to the building plans the smallest building was to house the spare generators. The surface of the building really didn’t look much more than one room, so Luca wasn’t expecting the search to take long. When he slid into the building though he revaluated his thoughts. Yes, the building was only one room. Yes, it had two generators in it. It also had three cameras, two sets of motion detectors, steel frame cage traps on the roof and an elevator.
[Lucky: Rӓv I know you said you had the camera’s does that include the ones in this building?]
[Rӓv: Naturally, they only show the two generators from three different angles. No idea why they felt the need for three cameras for that.]
[Lucky: No makes perfect sense since you have to walk past at least one of those cameras to get to the elevator from the door.] At least on the ground anyway. [Lucky: What about the motion sensors?]
[Rӓv: The what? There are motion sensors in there? I didn’t find them on any of the security rooms monitoring equipment. Hang on let me –]
[Lucky: Its fine, there only aimed at the floor and seemed connected to a cage trap. I’ll just go around. There probably monitored from another security room.]
[Rӓv: So they think they can hide things from me? We’ll just see about that.] Luca shook his head at the dark edge to Rӓv’s tone. He’d leave her to it.
Stretching lightly Luca smiled at fond memories. Taking his glasses off he deactivated them and waited for the contacts to activate as he put the glasses away. Luca shifted forward and then leapt up. Catching the lower bar of one of the cages Luca swung himself back to get momentum and then swung forward and released. Pulling himself into a tight tuck he rolled in the air and then stretched out catching the bar of the next cage.
One more jump and Luca held on to the edge of the cage closest to the elevator. Swinging up into a handstand on the outer edge of the bar Luca hooked a foot into the top part of the cage and contemplated the elevator bellow.
The motion sensors passed through right in front of the elevator so he couldn’t step on the ground. He could use his hook wing to hang down and swing into the elevator but would have to leave the wing behind once he entered which had no appeal. He considered shooting a step knife into the wall to the side of the elevator and then hoping in and pulling the knife back out, but not only would that leave a hole in the wall there was the potential to hit wiring in the wall.
Deciding that he might have a better idea if he knew a bit more about the floor below Luca fished out Holly’s sonic sensor and then stretched it out in his arm and squeezed. A faint chime sounded to indicate the mapping was complete. A few seconds later the scanned image appeared in a three-dimensional render on Luca’s contacts’ display.
[Rӓv:…]
[Tails:…]
[Holly:…]
[Ghost: Lucky so good, found hive so easily?]
[Lucky: Ghost have you finished yet? Tails? Holly?] Luca looked at the spiralling honey comp like hive that faded at the edge of the scan range displayed and determined that it was best to give up trying to search all his area himself.
[Ghost: Da, is exactly as plans.]
[Lucky: You come divide this with me. I only want to have to do this once if we can manage it.]
[Rӓv: Swing by the room I’ll give you two butterfly drones. They can be used for path monitoring to help you avoid people when back tracking. I have the camera in the elevator, but I’ll need you to put I wireless bridge in for me to use cameras in that ah hive.]
[Tails: I’m done as well. Found a medical room only has the lightly injured participants in it though. They must have been given something though cause there all unconscious.]
[Holly: I’m finished as well, there doesn’t seem to be anything here only a bunch of offices, I put a connection in for Rӓv in one of the computers though just in case.]
[Rӓv: Thank you.]
[Holly: If you have cameras in the compound though can’t you just use them to check things?]
[Rӓv: There aren’t any pointing to anything useful mostly just doors and corridors. There isn’t even a camera in the infirmary that Tails found.]
[Tails: Beside never trust the cameras if people are hiding something there hardly going to point a camera at it. Hence why Rӓv didn’t know about the elevator in the generator building.]
[Holly: Oh, that makes sense.]
[Lucky: Holly, Tails you come and search the other medium sized buildings just be careful to avoid Desmond and Zeno if possible.]
[Holly: Roger.] Luca missed the cute fan a little but appreciated the sharpness of Holly’s responses. They’d had too many issues here to be able to relax that much. Not to mention Luca didn’t need more people taking Ghost’s thrill seeking approach to everything.
Luca heard the door open and glanced over to see Ghost slip inside. Ghost swept his eyes over the area before he looked up and raised a brow at Luca’s position hanging upside down from the cage.
[Rӓv: Two people coming up in the elevator.] Luca looked back and smiled there was no elevator display. Interesting. Luca wondered if that held true for other floors as well. Luca put the mapper away and then shot his hook wing towards Ghost through the cages. Ghost shifted the side and then grasped the wing wire. Luca switched the retraction on which pulled Ghost up to the side of the first cage with a rattle. Ghost disentangled the wing and Luca fully retracted it while Ghost sidled around the cage and moved to the second cage.
Unlike the swift swings that Luca had used that had rather severely rattled the cages. Ghost’s approach was slower but completely silent. Right as Ghost reached Luca’s side the door to the elevator opened. The two people in white lab coats exited at a fast walk. Taking a risk Luca swung down once they passed underneath him and then swung once and flung himself forward spinning once and landing solidly in the elevator. Right as Luca moved a blaring alarm started outside that covered the rattle of the cage.
Once he landed Luca looked around and reached out to grab Ghost as he leapt forward. Luca took one step back to brace himself as he pulled Ghost in just above the sensors.
[Ghost: I forget how strong you are until you casually start tossing me around.]
[Lucky: It wouldn’t be necessary if you could jump properly, how you can be so successful when you fall like a rock.]
[Ghost: Nyet, rock noisy even if a fall I still silent.]
[Rӓv: If only your mouth was as silent.] Luca just raised a hand to stop Ghost’s response before he pointed at the roof of the elevator. The elevator shifted slightly as it headed down again. Looking at the inside display showed a series of buttons but no floor numbers.
Luca shifted to a half crouch and cupped his hands. Needing no other indicators Ghost immediately stepped on Luca’s palms and allowed himself to be heaved towards the roof. Luca wasn’t sure what he did but Ghost no sooner reached the roof when the access hatch opened, and he pulled himself up. Luca stepped back. With two quick steps forward Luca jumped up onto the handrail and sprung up catching Ghosts lowered hand. Luca crouched on the elevator roof as Ghost pulled the hatch closed.
[Lucky: Rӓv what was that alarm?]
[Rӓv: Lady stepped into the building Ghost swept and triggered a door sensor. I just triggered the full alarm as a response, covered the noise you would have made I believe.]
[Lucky: Yep, nice play.]
[Rӓv: Thank you. I swiped a copy of all the footage from all the cameras for the past month so now I’m just processing them so I can be lookout for you lot at the same time easy.]
The elevator continued down. Luca checked the time it took ten minutes for the elevator to reach its stop. Just after 3am, two hours.
[Luca: Search and map as much as you can and then move back by 4:20am, Rӓv we may need a distraction for our exit. Ghost, see if you find any stairs in this place wandering will be easier if we have stairs to work with than the elevator for us.]
