2.38 Rectification Plan

[Holly: This was not what I expected. I didn’t think I’d be bloodletter food. I must confess I had another stake in this contest, but this was really not how I thought things would go. I kinda wish I have time to explain but they’ve being knocking the others out one by one, I expect I’ll be next.] Luca would be sure to chase that down when he saved them. He refused to think that he wouldn’t be able to. That seemed like to important a matter to leave to the back burner. [Rӓv: I can’t believe I missed it. they sold the others off. They say I’m exempt because I actually have a bit of Dwarf and a bit of Gnome blood in me. They did some test back on the ship apparently. I can’t get away from them, but I’ve re-programmed the replica it will only take orders from you. You need to guess its name to activate that. I sent Help out with it to meet you. I’ll try and get the ones that we rescued to help but their races are on the line for this.] [Ghost: I with Shade and Declan, have eluded capture at this stage. Heard others held at Harpy stronghold. Is best to hide in dangerous place.] Ghost’s message was the last one and Luca let his head thunk back against the wall in response. He could guess the name of the spider easily Rӓv always did have a romantic love of celestial bodies. He couldn’t fault Ghost’s Logic either it was just the dispersal of points on the map that indicated his friends and all of Rӓv’s monitoring options was giving him a headache. Luca just hoped that Rӓv had made it so that the Gnomes and the Dwarfs couldn’t track them. Luca prioritised and then sent target messages to each person. He hoped that he could get them focused on what they needed and could do rather than focusing on the things that had happened that they couldn’t change. He also needed them to not do anything rash. They were all prone to that when they let their emotions get the better of them. [Lucky: Rӓv focus on getting the coms and tracking under control. I need them to be uncompromised. Also figure out what happened to Nano.] Tails hadn’t mentioned him so Luca assumed he wasn’t with them. Ghost wouldn’t be lugging an unconscious person around so that left it to Rӓv to find him. [Lucky: Ghost recon only, do not get involved in anything I will make you suffer through strategy training if you do. Be sure to tell Declan we’ll still help his friends we just might need to adjust the approach.] Luca felt deeply uncomfortable with the idea of Ghost leading around two unknown companions, there was way too much trouble they could get into. [Lucky: Holly just focus on figuring out why the vampires suddenly made a deal when there has been a stagnate state for who knows how long.] Luca fully intended to revisit ulterior motives later but there was really no point in hashing them over when he was likely to be on the disposable list. It was actually lucky that their seemed to be a trend of taking people alive at that point. Since the original discussion between the groups suggested that dead was a preferred disposal of people without keys.  [Lucky: Tails nothing to be done, just work on understanding and finding any weaknesses of your captors. Keep an eye out for Zeno as well since they are supposed to have him.] Hopefully with something to focus on Tails wouldn’t dwell on the what ifs of what had happened. [Rӓv: Don’t mind me I’ll be just fine.] Luca shivered at the dark intent behind that mission. That didn’t sound like Rӓv have actually listened at all but save for racing over there and shaking her Luca was out of other options. They couldn’t turn the voice chat on with the potential that the line was compromised or that sharp other hearing might just overhear things anyway. Thus they were limited to messages and hoping that no one thought to take peoples gloves. They’d have to get a bit more creative if that happened. [Ghost: Da. Da.] Despite the agreement Luca was not one bit reassured. Definitely Harpy Holdings first. [Tails: Roger that.] [Holly: Yes sir.] Luca felt marginally better with the responses of the others. They didn’t have him assigning a mental tone that made him worried. With the others dealt with Luca climbed to his feet. The sun was barely brushing the borazon, showing just a bit on light over the land. Still the weather was fine and there was no sign of anything moving outside. Blue and Lil’ Miss took off into the sky and proceeded to fly back and forth and around Luca as he walked. While Luca hadn’t been intending to be particularly stealthy, he hadn’t wanted to be as ostentatious as he was being at the moment. Nothing for it though he couldn’t find a convincing way to explain that the swooping was bad. As a compromise Luca walked in the shadows of rocks and the mountain peaks. Though as it was Luca saw nor heard sign of anyone. Rӓv had turned off all the butterflies and shifted the individual markers to close display only, so there was a directional marker to show what general direction of people. However, Luca wouldn’t be able to find Ghost until he was in the same couple of blocks, or town as someone to pinpoint them. Which meant the system wouldn’t be useful for others to use to track people. A roll of rocks to the left snagged Luca’s attention. Luca turned his head as a shadow moved from around the rocks and his muscles tensed. Immediately after a pale green glow shot out from around the rock with a high-pitched cry. “Lucky, it’s terrible they are all gone now.” Help sprawled on Luca’s shoulder with a hiccupping cry. Luca looked helplessly at the sky as the replica came clear of the rocks after help and rushed over to him. That was a disturbing sight even with the large bag slung over its body. “It will be fine Help; we just need to go pick people up. Aran what on earth does Rӓv have you lugging?” Help sniffled twice while the spider promptly maneuverer the bag off and proceeded to attempt to act cute against Luca’s side. No surprise on the name which was good. Luca took a quick look through the bag and then shook his head. Trust Rӓv. Picking the bag back up Luca started to sling it onto his back only for Aran to take it before turning around and crouching in an obvious offering a ride pose. Luca stared for a long moment. He should let Rӓv go into robotics when they get back she’d make a mint. Luca climbed on the back with Lil’ Miss and Blue settling down to experience the novelty. The pace was surprisingly fast and before night fell, they reached the wooded area that acted as the outskirts of the Harpy Aviary. Luca looked at his party as he set up the tent for the night. Rather than a strike group it was more like an exotic menagerie invasion.
