Chapter 4

977 Words
I feel sunlight in my eyes. I peak through one eye and see it shining through the window. I closed my eyes and started feeling around for Zane. All I feel, is a cold sheet on the bed. I opened my eyes and I looked around the room. Zane is not in here. I wrap the sheets around myself and get up. I went over to the bathroom and opened the door. But it is dark with no sign of Zane being there for a while. I looked in the room again and his clothes were gone. He might have gone to the kitchen. I got dressed quickly and headed out of the room. I go down the stairs and find the kitchen, but he is not there either. I noticed the house was still dirty from the party last night. I grab a trash bag and clean up the kitchen. I had nothing better to do. Since I did not know where Zane went, after I had cleaned the kitchen, I started making my way home. I am lucky that I do not live far from here. I slowly walked my way home. Looking around at all the trees. I finally made it to my house and took out my keys from my pocket. I unlocked the door and went inside. I looked around and, as usual, no signs of my parents being there. They are always gone to work or on a work trip. I am used to it though. I grab a bowl and my favorite cereal, cheerios. I get the milk out of the fridge. I make my bowl of cereal and go to the living room and eat it while watching Vampire Diaries. Once I am done, I go into my room and make my way to my bathroom. I turned the shower on. I take my clothes off and get in. I relax with the warm water running over my body. I finished doing my business and got out and put some more comfy clothes on. I check my phone and see that I still have no messages from Zane. I tried to call him, but it went to voicemail. I waited a couple more hours and I tried to call him again and it went to voicemail. I left him a message and texted him that I would see him on Monday and that I would like to talk. The rest of my weekend I finish any chores that I have around the house and relax. By the time I was getting ready for bed on Sunday night, I still had not heard from Zane. I guess I will just see him tomorrow morning. The next morning, I have a shower and get ready like I normally do. Zane never came to my house to pick me up. I walk my way to school, and I am running a little late. I walk into the school parking lot and I see Zane’s car in his normal parking spot. I wonder why he did not pick me up. I walked by his car and I saw that he was in it. But not only is he in it but he is making out with Whitney, the school slut. My blood turns cold. I decided I should confront him. I knocked on the window. He stops kissing her and gets out of the car and asks me, “What do you want?”. I had a shocked look on my face. I asked him, “I thought you were going to pick me up and take me to school like we usually do. Why did you not text me back or call me this weekend? I left a few messages.” He shrugs and says, “This is my last week of school and I want to enjoy it. Not having to run you around. As to not returning your messages, what we did this weekend was fun, but I am about to go to college. I do not need silly little girls as friends. I was only your friend because I felt sorry for you. You were always so shy and never had many friends. I took pity on you. Now that I am about to graduate, I will finally be rid of you.” I thought he was my friend. He was my best friend. I never thought he would do something like this to me. I felt the tears come to my eyes and I try my hardest not to cry in front of him. I did not say anything. He turns around and gets back in the car and starts making out with Whitney again. I turned and ran off with the tears flowing down my cheeks. I find the closest girl’s bathroom and go into a stall. I cry and cry until I have no tears left. I decided to go ahead and leave school and head home. I texted Tiffany, letting her know that I texted well and would be at home. I quickly made my way home. Once I am home, I go to my room and sit on my bed. I stayed in that spot for a few hours, feeling numb. How am I going to get through this last week of school? I do not think I can even show my face to him at school without breaking down. I will just call the school and let them know I am not feeling well and can finish the last week of school from home. It is not like there is much to do anyway. For the rest of the week, Tiffany came over after school to comfort me. She knows how long I was in love with him. We watch all the sappy romantic movies that we can get our hands on.
