The pixie’s laughter faded behind the door, leaving only the hum of moans from within and the weight of silence pressing around us. Cara clutched at my arm, her nails biting into my skin as though she feared that if she let go, the pull of that house would drag her inside.
I bent my head close. “We did it, Cara. We didn’t betray each other.” I told her.
There is nothing worse than when your mate betrays you. In Cara’s state that possibility was there.
Damn damn Goddess and her games. I wish they would just be honest with us and not do do these stupid games.
Cara’s breathing was shaky, she is still full of her needs because of the respite. She buried her face against my chest.
