I felt guilt emanating from Jace through our bond. I didn’t want him to feel that way, so I aimed to put him at ease.
What had happened before we became mates was changing, and I could sense it. Everything happens for a reason; Jace becoming my mate was opening his eyes to the fact that change was needed. He just needed to believe that.
“Come on, let’s get some rest,” I told him.
Jace wrapped his arm around me and started kissing me. I welcomed his tongue into my mouth as we let it wrestle with each other. He slid his mouth to my neck, gently sucking and kissing his way down to my mark.
A moan escaped my lips as pure pleasure shot through me while he teased my mark with his mouth.
