I started running through the woods, trying a different path than before. I admit, nerves and adrenaline coursed through me as I raced among the trees.
After a while, I heard a howl. It was Jace; he was entering the woods—the chase was beginning.
I looked around for a place to hide. All I could see were trees. I kept running until I heard the sound of water and headed in that direction. That’s when I came across a waterfall.
I gazed at the waterfall and the body of water it cascaded into, which seemed to stretch beyond the horizon.
“It’s the lake!” Star yipped in my head.
“How can this be part of the lake?” I asked her.
“It’s a big lake! You never walked around it! But it is the lake!” Star insisted.
