Chapter Ten

953 Words
Over the next month, Sarah and Andrew were meeting up almost every night. The only nights they didn't meet were when Sarah would need to wake up early the following morning or when Andrew needed to meet his colleagues at the club. Most nights they were at the club, but there were some nights where Sarah would go over to his place. Either way, she would leave and spend the night at her own place. They never spent the night together, although they would come close. They would put a movie up on his television but wouldn't really watch it. They would just kiss and talk instead. The movie would just be in the background instead of being in the forefront of their minds and their nights. For some reason, Andrew hardly ever invited her over during the day. She was usually busy anyway, but there were days where she would tell him that she was free. He hardly texted her before the afternoon and she was starting to become curious on why. She was starting to wonder if she wasn't the only one he was seeing. She did remember him saying that he tended to be with his colleagues during the day and was always really busy, but she was still a little worried. Their next night together, she went over to his place and walked in. The main thing that was preventing her from thinking he might be seeing someone else was the fact that he gave her a key. He wouldn't do that if he was worried about her walking in on him with someone else. They had never made their relationship official, but she had a key to his place, he had one of hers, and he said that she could stop by whenever she wanted. Even if he wasn't around. But she couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something from her. She just had no idea what it was. Andrew wiped his mouth after he finished eating and made sure his teeth were clean. He heard the front door and smiled soft before unlocking the bathroom door. He walked out and then went over to the entryway. He leaned down and kissed Sarah's cheek once he saw her. "Hey. Sorry, I was just finishing getting ready." "It's okay. I just got here. How was your day?" She asked before kissing his cheek and then going to the kitchen to get a drink. "It was alright. Had a couple meetings this afternoon but got to sleep in most of the morning. I was up late last night at the club, so it felt good to sleep in." "I'm glad you got to sleep." She said as she poured herself some water. She took a drink and then followed him to the living room where they both sat down on the couch. "How was your day?" Andrew asked and kissed her cheek again, putting his arm around her. "It was okay. Just had a couple classes. Nothing too exciting or special. Until you called and asked if I would come over." She responded and rested her head on his shoulder. She helped him find a movie for them and yawned soft, biting her lower lip. "I probably won't be able to stay too long though. I was up early so I'm going to want to get some sleep." He just smiled and gently pulled her onto his lap. "You could just spend the night. We are basically dating anyway... and that's what people do when they are together. We don't need to do anything, just sleep." Sarah blushed and looked down slightly before back up at the man in front of her. "You really don't mind if I spend the night? That is a big step for us. Even if we do just sleep." "I wouldn't have minded it a month ago but I didn't want to push anything. You seemed a little hesitant at first to start anything... and knowing what I do now about your ex-boyfriends, I don't blame you." "Thank you Andrew and I would love to spend the night. Just know that if I fall asleep on the couch, you can just wake me up instead of either leaving me or carrying me to bed." Andrew just laughed a little and shook his head. "If I do fall asleep here, I'll be carrying you. I appreciate your offer but I don't mind carrying you one bit." He said before pressing his lips to hers. She kissed him back and wrapped her arms around his neck. She got more comfortable on his lap and then cuddled even closer to him. She was shocked by everything they had already talked about, but she was happy by it too. He had never mentioned them dating before. She knew they were basically already dating but that didn't mean he wanted them to be. Maybe he just wanted them to be friends who kissed. Now she knew and she was feeling a lot better about everything. After a night of kissing and talking, and watching TV, Sarah did end up falling asleep on the couch. It was close to half an hour before Andrew noticed but when he did, he picked her up and brought her to his room. He laid her down on the bed and kissed her forehead before walking out of the room. Thankfully he had already eaten, but he still couldn't sleep. It was part of being a vampire; he couldn't sleep. //Instead of posting a full chapter, I finished the one from last week as my update for this week. Thank you for all the reads and hearts. It means a lot to me.
