Tiffany was standing outside the hospital room, her hand hovering over the doorknob. The hallway smelled like bleach and hand sanitizer, and the pale fluorescent lights overhead buzzed with a mechanical hum that made her skin tick. She hadn’t seen Riley since she’d woken up.
