CHAPTER 5 UNEXPECTED!!

My head's pounding . Last night's party is still echoing in my ears . I swear, one more drink and I'd be singing in the streets . Priya... you owe me .

I barely had time to process the hangover before I had to rush out the door . Classes don't wait for nobody, right? I grabbed a quick shower , threw on some clothes , and sprinted to lecture.

I slipped into the lecture room, scanning for a familiar... face 👀. Spotted Genevieve. Guess she's in this class too.

Professor Harrison's voice filled the room : "Alright, today's topic in Developmental Psychology...

Genevieve is taking Psychology, right?

Professor Harrison wrote "Attachment Theory" on the board l. Lizzy leaned back, interested .

Genevieve tuned in, thinking about her own psych classes . She glanced at Lizzy, wondering what she's really like .

Harrison asked for examples, Lizzy raised her hand .

Genevieve leaned in ...

Lizzy spoke confidently : "Bowlby's theory suggests attachment styles impact relationships... like how early bonds shape trust."

Harrison nodded . "Exactly! Secure attachments often lead to healthier relationships later."

Genevieve scribbled notes , curious about Lizzy's insight . Class discussion heated up .

Harrison smiled . "Interesting points! Time for a break. Back at 11 AM"

Class dismissed . Lizzy gathered her stuff , a hint of tension .

Genevieve approached, eyes locked 👀. "Guess you're not totally lost in Psych "

Lizzy smirked . "Unlike some people, I actually attend classes "

Genevieve rolled her eyes . "Ouch. Guess the claws are out "

Lizzy raised an eyebrow . "You started it "

Lizzy turned to leave . Genevieve matched her pace . "So, what, we're doing this now? "

Genevieve glanced around the thinning crowd ... Ethan's empty seat caught her eye . "Huh. Ethan's not here "

Lizzy stopped, eyes flashing . "You think you can just call me 'trash' for coming to a class and walk away? "

Genevieve smirked . "I said you don't belong in places like that. "

Lizzy turned to leave . Genevieve called out : "Don't bother trying to fit in."

Genevieve tucked her phone away , eyes scanning the hallway . Still no Ethan...

Genevieve leaned against the wall, watching Lizzy disappear into the crowd.

Priya appeared beside her . "Hey, what's up? "

Genevieve nodded toward the direction Lizzy went . "Lizzy vibes "

Priya laughed . "You two... gonna clash again? "

Genevieve headed to the library , . Spotted buried in books .Genevieve looked up from her notes , eyes scanning the library, Spotted Amara in the corner, huddled with Lizzy .

luccy nodded . "Yeah, Amara's pretty invested in getting a good grade"

Genevieve shrugged . "Fair enough, we all need those A's "

Genevieve plopped down . "Studying hard, as usual "

Genevieve's gaze lingered on Amara and Lizzy for a bit . "Guess we'll see how their project turns out "
