CHAPTER 4 THE GALA💃

The day of the Gala arrived in a whirlwind of excitement .

Genevieve was in her room, perfecting her look. Her friends texted: "Gen, you're gonna kill it! "

Lizzy and Priya were getting ready together, laughing and snapping selfies. "Priya, I can't decide on shoes "

Priya grinned. "Wear the heels. You'll slay "

At the venue, students buzzed with anticipation. The Renegades were tuning instruments, Kendra was rehearsing lines, and Fusion dancers were stretching.

Genevieve spotted Ethan across the crowd... Genevieve approached Ethan, trying to catch his eye. "Ethan, looking...fine "

Ethan barely glanced at her. "Thanks."

The emcee announced the Gala was starting. The Renegades kicked off the talent show with a bang .

Lizzy and Priya cheered them on. "Wiiinnn! "

Kendra took the stage next, her poetry slam leaving the crowd in awe.

Ethan was standing alone, when his eyes suddenly locked onto Lizzy. He was mesmerized.

Lizzy wore a stunning blue dress, Ethan was wearing a sharp blue tie, Genevieve noticed Ethan's gaze.

Genevieve followed Ethan's gaze to Lizzy, her smile tightening. "Ethan's got eyes on Lizzy, huh "

Her friends nodded. "Guess the blue tie was a match made in heaven "

Lizzy, oblivious, laughed with Priya as Fusion dancers performed .

Ethan finally looked away, expression unchanged. "Exciting show."

Genevieve's tone turned subtle. "Yeah."

The judges announced the winner.... Fusion as the winners of the talent show . They leapt into a victory dance .

Lizzy hugged Priya. "Congrats, guys! "

Ethan turned to leave, pausing briefly by Lizzy. "Nice dress."

Lizzy looked up, surprised. "Thanks, Ethan."

Genevieve watched, her smile still polite.

The emcee announced the voting for King and Queen of the Gala was underway . Students buzzed, speculating on the frontrunners.

Genevieve was confident . Lizzy was surprised when her name was mentioned in whispers.

The crowd erupted "Rohan and Lizzy! "

Turns out, Lizzy's stunning blue dress matched Rohan's crisp blue blazer perfectly . People went wild when they noticed.

Lizzy had performed an epic fusion dance with Priya earlier , and people were still buzzing about her skills.

The emcee laughed. "Alright, twist! Rohan from Fusion - handsome guy with sick beatboxing skills and Lizzy, crowd fave "

Lizzy blushed as Rohan spun her around. Genevieve smiled tight. Ethan looked... fine .

Rohan and Lizzy were crowned King and Queen .

Rohan spun Lizzy around the dance floor . She was beaming, eyes wide like she was dancing with a superstar .

Rohan flashed a charming smile, clearly loving the spotlight . Lizzy looked starstruck, barely speaking, like she was fangirling hard.

As they twirled, Rohan said something playful. Lizzy laughed awkwardly, looking up at him like he's some kind of idol .

Genevieve watched from afar, smiling sly Ethan was gone.

The music slowed. Rohan kept Lizzy close for a final spin. She looked dazed .

As the song ended, Rohan grinned at Lizzy. "Guess we made a killer King and Queen pair "

Lizzy snapped out of her daze "Y-you were amazing! I mean, Fusion was "

Rohan chuckled, clearly amused. "Thanks, Liz. You weren't too bad yourself"

Priya jumped in. "Congrats, you two! Now let's eat "

Genevieve slipped away, joining Ethan by the exit. "Guess we didn't get the spotlight"

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Didn't need it."

Lizzy and Rohan headed to the food table, chatting with friends . She was still in awe of Rohan's Fusion skills .

Rohan grabbed a plate, playfully loading it with Lizzy's favorite snacks . "Pineapple pizza okay?"

Lizzy laughed. "How'd you know? "

Priya teased, "Rohan's got skills "

Genevieve joined, subtly steering the convo . "Liz, you and Rohan looked great out there "

Lizzy beamed. "He's a total idol! "

Ethan appeared, grabbing a drink. "Nice show."

Ethan nodded at Rohan, then turned to Lizzy. "You did okay."

Lizzy smiled politely . "Thanks, Ethan."

Rohan jumped in . "Okay? She killed it! "

Genevieve laughed lightly. "Ethan's just being modest

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "I'm being honest."

The group chatted awkwardly for a beat . Priya broke it. "Food's here! "

The group dug into food, chatting about the Gala . Lizzy was still buzzing from dancing with Rohan .

Rohan turned to her. "So, Liz, what's next? Want to join Fusion? "

Lizzy's eyes widened . "Me? In Fusion? "

Priya jumped in. "She'd kill it! "

Ethan raised an eyebrow, listening .

Genevieve smiled smooth . "Liz would be great."

Lizzy looked unsure but thrilled

Rohan leaned in, persuasive . "Come check our rehearsal, Liz. We'll make you a star "

Lizzy blushed hard . "I-I'll think about it."

Ethan snorted quietly . Genevieve shot him a look .

Priya squealed. "Say yes, Liz! "

Lizzy laughed nervously . Rohan grinned, confident he'd won .

The music shifted, and Rohan extended a hand . "Dance?"

Lizzy hesitated, then took it

Ethan rolled his eyes . "Guess we're done here."

Genevieve touched his arm . "Ethan, don't be like that."

Rohan led Lizzy to the dance floor . She looked thrilled .

Ethan turned to leave. "I'm out."

Genevieve sighed . "I'll catch you later, then."

Ethan walked off alone, the music got louder.

Priya cheered them on . Genevieve watched Ethan leave, expression unreadable

Priya jumped in. "Time for pics!

Genevieve followed smoothly

Priya didn't notice, still snapping pics . Rohan and Lizzy kept posing .

Genevieve slipped out quietly. The music kept pumping .

Rohan turned to Lizzy. "Want to get some air? "

Lizzy nodded, looking starstruck .Rohan leaned against the rail , gaze drifting to the stars. "Night's still young "

Lizzy looked up, idol eyes on him . "You guys did so great."

Rohan chuckled low . "Fusion's fire . Maybe you'll join us."

Lizzy's smile was shy . "I'd love to see you guys rehearse."

Rohan's eyes sparkled "Drop by anytime."

A car pulled up, Rohan straightened.

The car honked softly . Rohan glanced at it .

"Liz, gotta roll. Ride's here "

Lizzy nodded, still looking up at him . "Thanks for the dance."

Rohan smiled, casual . "Anytime."

He slipped into the car . Lizzy watched it leave .

Priya appeared beside her . "He's something, right?"

Lizzy sighed, "He's... wow."

Priya grinned "Rohan's got that charm. But don't get too starstruck "

Lizzy laughed, eyes still dreamy . "I know, right? "

The music inside pulsed . Priya nodded toward the door . "Back in?"

Lizzy nodded . "Yeah, let's go."

As they re-entered, Ethan appeared by the bar , watching them, Ethan's gaze lingered on Lizzy and Priya . He sipped his drink .

The music pulsed . People danced and laughed.

Lizzy and Priya joined the crowd . Rohan was gone, but his impact lingered .

Ethan's expression was hard to read.

Ethan finished his drink, eyes still on Lizzy.

Priya pulled Lizzy into a chat with friends . Ethan turned to leave.

As he exited, his phone buzzed. A text from... Alex .

"Ethan, need to talk. Urgent."

Ethan's jaw tightened.Ethan's eyes narrowed . "What now."

He typed fast . "What's up?"

The reply came quick . "It's about Rohan."Ethan's grip on his phone tightened

Ethan's gaze lingered on Lizzy . She was laughing with Priya .

He turned to leave , texting someone as he exited.

Outside, the night air was cool . Ethan's steps were smooth .

Lizzy, still inside, wondered ...

Lizzy sipped a drink , still buzzing from Rohan .

Priya nudged her . "Earth to Liz! "

Lizzy laughed . "Sorry, zoned out "

Priya grinned . "Rohan effect? "

Lizzy's smile was shy . "Maybe... "

The music pulsed . They danced

They danced late 🎶, laughing . Around 2 AM , Priya yelled, "After-party! "

Lizzy agreed . They piled into a cab with friends.

At Priya's pad , they crashed , still buzzing .

Lizzy drifted off , thinking of the night .
