Chapter 12 GrahamRegret twisted my stomach as I walked to my car. Wouldn’t I much rather spend the evening bringing my New Year’s Eve memories into the here and now? I enjoyed Sierra, but she didn’t intoxicate me. The sweet taste of Alexa clung to my lips, making me dizzy. I should have canceled my plans. I looked back over my shoulder. She was already gone. I imagined I could hear the low rumble of her engine fading. Too late. By the time I made it home at one in the morning, I thought I’d pop my zipper. Sierra would be quickly disappointed. I jogged upstairs to the master bathroom, undressed, and jumped in the shower. The water cascaded over my head, and I closed my eyes—remembering. The feel of a curl around my finger. The way Alexa’s breath came in hot bursts when I kissed her.
