As we drove home my body began to settle, but I could still feel Uncle Poseidon with me. “Hey H, why do I feel Uncle Poseidon with me?” I asked. Hades slammed on the breaks making me hit the back of his seat. “what the hell do you mean?” he questioned. I picked myself up off the ground and said “first off, OUCH! Second, I feel him, like he’s right next to me. I can hear him, see what he’s doing. It’s never happened before when I used the sea magic. It doesn’t make sense.” Uncle hades went ghostly white, he put his Chevy in drive and told me to buckle up and took off like a bat out of hell.

I looked up at the speedometer and seen we were going 95 mph. what the hell is uncle trying to outrun or run to?  “Where in the hell are we going H? why are you driving so fast?! You’re scaring the s**t out of me and no offense, but living with you in the underworld and what not, it does take a lot to scare me.” Pure silence, he side eyed me as if to make sure I wasn’t growing a second head or something and eased up a little when he saw I looked normal. “H, seriously, what the fuck.” I questioned. “Language, love.” Scolded Uncle Hades. I rolled my eyes; he wants me to watch my language but is acting like a mad man. Yeah, okay. That’s not going to happen until I get answers. “Give me some answers H, Then I’ll watch my damn mouth.” I claimed. Uncle Hades rolled his eyes, and said “We are going to see the fates, again, something isn’t right. When I spoke with them about you before, they told me all about your powers and so far, everything has been right on, but this, this isn’t normal nor is it okay. Something is wrong and I’m going to figure it out and I have a feeling your father is up to something. I’ll be damned if I let anything happen to you, love. You’re my priority. You always have been, always will be. I won’t let that asshole get his hands on you as long as I am alive, you understand, Ambrosia?” I nodded with a smile that came from my heart because he was the only family that truly loved and cared about my well-being. “But let’s be real, I’m immortal so that will never happen.” He chuckled. I laughed along with my uncle, I knew I was safe, so long as I stayed with him. We pulled up to the entry way of the fates, and it was more quiet than usual. This worried me, normally there was a line of people waiting to talk to the fates about their future. “H, are you sure this is safe, this isn’t normal, and I don’t feel the greatest.” I grimly said. “Don’t you worry, you stay right here, rest my love. This will only take a moment. They know I’m on my way.” He said. I reached over and gave my uncle one of the biggest hugs I have ever given him and kissed him on the cheek. “Just in case I haven’t told you lately Uncle, I love you, and I appreciate everything you do for me, to you know, keep me alive” I looked down feeling as if I was a burden on his life. “He grabbed my chin and made me look at him and he said in a soft tone “hey, you’re the best thing that’s happened to me. You and Lucian.” My heart raced at the sound of his name. My uncle glared daggers at me. “I love you dear niece, I will do what it takes to protect you, I will make sure you never see Tartarus or those old nasty ass titans, most importantly the one they call your grandfather.” He winced. I could see the pain in his eyes. He shook it off quickly. He opened the truck door and got out. Before he closed the door, he looked back at me and said “I won’t be long love, don’t worry. Close your eyes and take a nap.” I nodded my head and obeyed my uncle. I closed my eyes and drifted off dreaming of Lucian…

I woke up to shouting, it was my mothers voice, she was screaming and crying. “How could you! You Bastard! My best friend, Your brother!” She screamed. I was on alert, searching for Uncle Hades. I couldn’t see him, the only people I saw were my parents and Uncle Poseidon. He saw me looking and came towards me. “Hey little one, long time no see, how are things?” he asked. “Enough of the small talk bullshit Uncle, where is H?” I demanded. My Father stormed over to me and thundered “You will be returning home this instant, you hear me, you no longer live in the underworld, you will be an Olympian, I don’t care if you like it or not! Your precious uncle is no longer here to save you girl!” I looked over to my mother with tears in my eyes, she was on the ground bawling and screaming for Hades. “What have you done!!!” I shrieked. Falling to my knees I prayed this was a bad dream, that I was still asleep in the truck and Uncle was still inside with the fates. When I looked over to the weeping willow that was turning a bright cosmic blue with shades of red seeping down, I saw fathers lightening bolt sticking out. “You motherfucker! You murderous bastard!” I cried. I ran to the tree and fell to my knees begging and praying to all the gods that he was still alive so my powers could save him.

“Uncle Hades!!” I wailed as I fell at his feet. Please you can’t die on me now! “You promised me I wouldn’t have to deal with my father!” I cried.
